NOTTINGHAM FOREST V BRENTFORD

7.30pm While all eyes might be on the Europa League Semi-Finals on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE, we have one game from the Premier League on Thursday night. Nottingham Forest host Brentford in a huge game for the home side – it hasn’t been a good few days for Forest as they lost in the FA Cup Semi-Final against Manchester City, that was after City won last week and then along with Newcastle and Chelsea also winning at the weekend, that leaves Forest sitting in sixth coming into this game. The good news for Forest is that there’s an extra Champions League spot for the Premier League this season, but they need to get back into that top five.

A win here for Forest would see them jump back into third – they are two points behind Newcastle, one behind City and they are level with Chelsea. They actually have a pretty good fixture list on the run-in – Brentford, Crystal Palace, Leicester and West Ham before what could be an absolutely massive fixture at home to Chelsea on the final day. That could be drama filled if the Champions League is on the line. Palace seems their toughest fixture until the final day; they have an FA Cup Final to think about though so maybe that might work in Forest’s favour.

As you would expect with home advantage, Forest come into the game as favourites at 2.24 with Brentford 3.45 and the draw is 3.7 at the time of writing. Obviously a draw would still put Forest into the Champions League spots for the time being, but that would be a disappointing result at home to Brentford. I’ve said this before, but it’s well known at this stage that Forest have been massively over-performing this season. We landed a Five Star NAP on City against them at the weekend, but I wouldn’t be in a rush to take them on here with an average Brentford side.

Brentford have been one of the most entertaining side to watch in the Premier League this season. They are over-performing in front of goal, and they are conceding a massive amount of chances. Their average xG conceded is 1.84 which is the same defensive figure as Ipswich and only marginally better than Southampton and Leicester – those three sides are nailed on to go down so that’s the level Brentford have been defending at. Forest have been conceding a lot of chances too – their average xG conceded is 1.7 but they’ve been massively getting away with things given their actual goals conceded average is only 1.18.

In the match odds market, I would lean towards Forest just because of the confidence and momentum they have this season, however I’m happy to stay out of that market here. It’s hard to make the case that Forest should be massively shorter given their stats. I feel this game absolutely screams goals, and Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.86 with Both Teams To Score trading 1.74. I couldn’t put anyone off either bet, but Both Teams To Score offers marginally more value with both sides so poor at the back.

The Striker Says:
Two points win Both Teams To Score at 1.74 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
