ARSENAL V CHELSEA

8pm We have midweek Premier League action on BETDAQ Betting Exchange this week, and we have a cracker on Tuesday night! Arsenal host Chelsea with a chance to go four points clear of Manchester City at the top of table. Manchester City will then have two games in hand on Arsenal, but you never know what can happen under the pressure of a title run-in. Just ask Arsenal last season! Despite a terrible week last week where Arsenal lost at home to Aston Villa and then crashing out of the Champions League, they steadied the ship with a comfortable 2-0 win over Wolves on Saturday. They were absolutely backed off the boards for that game and it will be interesting to see what the market does here.

Chelsea also played on Saturday evening, crashing out of the FA Cup at the hands of Manchester City. It was a close game, but City grinded out a 1-0 win with a late goal to end Chelsea’s season. While they sit in mid-table; Newcastle, Manchester United and West Ham have been so poor this season I wouldn’t give up hope for a European spot just yet if I was Chelsea. They just have to keep winning and see what happens. As you would expect, Arsenal come into the game as the odds on favourites. The Gunners are trading 1.57 with Chelsea 6.2 and the draw is 4.9 at the time of writing.

It’s a sign of how far the Chelsea standard has fallen recently that Arsenal are trading as short as 1.57 here. Chelsea played well against City in the FA Cup Semi-Final, but we saw another example of their squad after the game. You had Thiago Silva in tears having given it his all, and two players behind him mocking him. After the penalty incident against Everton too; you can see why Chelsea are sitting in mid-table. They just don’t play for each other – I actually think it will be years before they are a Champions League side again.

They did well at the back against City, but overall this season they have leaked way too many chances. Their average xG conceded is 1.47 which again is mid-table standard. Compare that to Arsenal’s figure at 0.90 which is the best defensive record in the Premier League. Arsenal create more than Chelsea, but to give Chelsea some credit they have been creating good chances this season, and their average xG created is climbing at the moment too – it’s 1.64 and is moving a little higher each week.

We should have an entertaining game here; Chelsea usually switch on for the big games. I know Arsenal have been exceptional at the back, but the 1.57 does feel a little short here – I just can’t make an argument that it should be massively shorter and thus make the 1.55 good value – I feel the price is right, and in those cases no bet is the best play. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.5, seven ticks shorter than the Arsenal win – the bet I like here is Both Teams To Score at 1.64. As I said, Chelsea have been finding the net recently and their average xG created is creeping up. A draw is no good to Arsenal so I feel they have to chase the game at some stage, and Chelsea love playing an open game too. I feel we’ll see goals here, and the 1.64 on BTTS looks a cracking bet compared to the Overs price in my opinion.

The Striker Says:
Three points win Both Teams To Score at 1.64 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
