TUESDAY CARABAO CUP: The Striker previews Tuesday’s match between ARSENAL v LEEDS with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

ARSENAL V LEEDS

7.45pm We’re into the Last 16 of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday! Arsenal v Leeds is the highlight fixture on Tuesday night, and it’s no surprise that it’s the live Sky Sports game given the amount of talking points. This is going to be an interesting game, and I’m sure there will be some big opinions on the prices on BETDAQ Betting Exchange with Arsenal hot favourites.

Backing Arsenal at odds on always comes with a wealth warning, but there are reasons to back them again here. We landed a nice bet on them to beat Aston Villa last Friday night in the Premier League and they face a struggling Leeds side here. As I said on Friday, Arsenal always tend to do well with home advantage against sides like this. They put Aston Villa to the sword on Friday night, and Leeds will give them a huge amount of chances.

Leeds actually played pretty well at the weekend in their 1-1 draw with Wolves; however the overall outlook for Leeds isn’t good at the moment. They find themselves down in 17th and make no mistake, they are in a relegation battle. They are too good to go down of course, but with Newcastle’s takeover and the money they are likely to spend in the transfer window, things can get very tight down the bottom of the table.

Leeds problem this season is that they haven’t been creating enough going forward. They showed small signs of form at the weekend, but that’s all. I know a lot of made about Leeds issues at the back, but they have always had issues at the back. The main problem now is they aren’t controlling games, keeping the ball and creating chances. And when you don’t do that and you’re dodgy at the back, you aren’t going to win many games!

Of course, Arsenal aren’t without issues themselves. As I said above, backing them comes with a wealth warning but there are plenty of reasons to like them at 1.65. They comes into this game in good form and put in a confident display against Aston Villa. They don’t have any European games this season so they don’t have a major reason to rest players here – they can target a Cup win, and they have always had great success in the Cups given their problems in the League. I feel this is an ideal time to back Arsenal, and an ideal time to get against Leeds too. I can see this being an easy home win.
