MONDAY SERIE A: The Ultra previews Monday’s game between FIORENTINA V ROMA including a recommended BETDAQ bet.

FIORENTINA V ROMA

7.45pm Monday Night Football on BETDAQ Betting Exchange comes from Serie A and we have a cracker as Fiorentina host Roma. It’s been a massive few days for Roma as they reached the final of the Europa Conference League on Thursday night. Jose Mourinho was in tears at full-time, how could you not love the drama Jose always brings! He really has this Roma team together and fully playing for him. How long that lasts is always open for debate of course but you can’t knock the fact he does bring success early on. Roma have never won a major European trophy and although some clubs will look down on the Europa Conference League, it would be a massive achievement for Roma.

Over in Serie A, a big gap has formed over the last few weeks to the top four, so any idea that Roma had of getting that fourth spot off Juventus is now gone. Roma, Lazio and Fiorentina are all in a battle for that fifth spot, but Fiorentina have lost ground in recent weeks and come into this fixture off the back of three straight losses. Roma must be on a high after the win over Leicester on Thursday night, but they have been struggling a little in Serie A. They played out a 0-0 draw with Bologna prior to the Leicester game and even with home advantage finished with a lower xG than Bologna. You can forgive them not winning against Inter Milan and Napoli, but they do need a win soon in Serie A.

Fiorentina have had their own issues. They’ve lost their last three against Salernitana, Udinese and AC Milan. They have conceded xG figures of 1.6, 2.93 and 1.74 – Roma have kept their recent games tight, so we could see a cagey affair here. It’s no surprise that we have an open game here, but I do feel Fiorentina are a little short at 2.4. I would have the sides priced a lot closer together, and although the Roma bet is tempting at 3.15 I do feel it’s a nice option to have the draw on our side here too.

As I said above, I am expecting a cagey game and that certainly makes the goal markets interesting. Under 2.5 goals is trading 1.98 which looks very nice value too. Jose Mourinho won’t be unhappy with a draw here even though Lazio started the weekend on the same number of points having played the same amount of games. The winners of the Europa Conference League also get into the Europa League next season which is the same as finishing fifth in Serie A – however Roma can’t afford to give up in Serie A and leave that until the Final!

I like two bets here. The Fiorentina lay because I fully expect a closer game than odds of 2.4 suggest and under 2.5 goals because I also expect a very cagey affair. I couldn’t put anyone off either bet to be honest, and although I’m a big fan of the Fiorentina lay the under 2.5 goals at 1.98 stands out as the best value bet here.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Under 2.5 goals at 1.98 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
