MONDAY LA LIGA: The Ultra previews Monday’s La Liga match between RAYO VALLECANO v REAL MADRID with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

RAYO VALLECANO V REAL MADRID

8pm Monday night football in Europe comes from La Liga on BETDAQ Betting Exchange this week as Rayo Vallecano host Real Madrid. After dropping points last weekend to Girona, Real Madrid now find themselves playing catch up as Barcelona moved two points ahead of them with a win on Saturday night. Real have this game in hand to go one point back ahead, and at the moment it looks like we’re going to have a fantastic title race. Barcelona have been playing some incredible football this season, although getting knocked out of the Champions League in a difficult Group stage, they are going to fully test Real this season.

After suffering their first defeat of the season in the Champions League away to RB Leipzig and then having to settle for a 1-1 draw at home to Girona, Real needed a smooth 5-1 win over Celtic in the Champions League last week. It was never in doubt, and an easy game for them to top the Group. This will be a tougher test, however they come into the game odds on favourites – trading around 1.7 at the time of writing.

Rayo Vallecano have had a positive start to the season – they will be delighted to be sitting just inside the top half of the table at this stage of the season. They managed to finish 12th last season which was a great performance considering they came through the playoffs in the Segunda – they started the season quickly and then finished in an ambulance though! They will be hoping not to do the same this season, but they aren’t even in the relegation discussion which is a nice place to be.

Rayo Vallecano have a great record at home this season, but you have to say that they’ve have had an easy fixture list. At home they have played Cadiz, Getafe, Elche, Valencia and Mallorca – this is their first big test at home. They play reasonably solid football – they concede marginally more than they create but you’d expect that for a side where they are in La Liga. Their average xG created is 1.4 and conceded 1.5. Obviously Real Madrid have much better figures – their average xG created is 2.4 and conceded is 1.1. The 2.4 is obviously very impressive, and if you had to have a bet in the match odds market it would be Real at 1.7.

I’m not going to opt for the match odds market here however. The bet I like is Over 2.5 goals at 1.84. Both these sides like to play an open game and I expect a very entertaining Monday night football fixture here! Rayo Vallecano won’t sit back at home, and Real have really opened up this season – it seems they are playing with the idea of “we’ll just score more than you!” I’d have Over 2.5 goals trading shorter than Real Madrid, and I’m happy to have a confident bet on at the odds.

The Ultra Says:
Four points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.84 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
