MONDAY SERIE A: The Ultra previews Monday’s games between SAMPDORIA v FIORENTINA and JUVENTUS v LAZIO both including a recommended BETDAQ bet.

SAMPDORIA V FIORENTINA

5.30pm After a fantastic weekend around Europe, the fixtures just keep coming! Monday night football on BETDAQ Betting Exchange comes from Serie A, and we have two interesting markets to enjoy. We start early with Sampdoria hosting Fiorentina, and this is a big game for both sides. Sampdoria aren’t fully out of the relegation question, but they are in a pretty strong position and don’t really have to worry. Salernitana have finished the season very strongly, but they are still two points behind Sampdoria having played one game more. This is also a big game for Fiorentina because they are chasing European football for next season. After finishing 16th in 2018/19 and then 13th in 2020/21 it would be an incredible achievement. They still have a chance of finishing in 5th, especially with Lazio away to Juventus later tonight but Fiorentina are locked in a massive battle with Atalanta and Roma for that 6th position. Roma obviously have a Europa Conference League Final to look forward to, with the winner of that getting a Europa League spot so they are under less pressure, but I have to say we’ve had superb drama in Serie A this season. The title race has been fantastic and now we have a nice finish for some European spots too.

Fiorentina recorded a massive 2-0 win over Roma last week, and that was badly needed after three straight losses. They were in a very strong position and obviously opened the door with that run. They fully deserved that win over Roma though, and in fairness they did create an xG of 3.08 in the loss to Udinese. Fiorentina are trading odds on here, but with their away form very questionable this season I’m sure we will have a lot of difference in opinion on their price at 1.88. Their form at home this season has been remarkable and they sat in 2nd place on the home form table before the weekend – even higher than AC Milan. Their away form is very different however, they sit down in the bottom half of the table there, so while I do fancy them to win here I’m keen to look around the side markets. I feel Sampdoria are there for the taking and I’m happy to be against them, but it is definitely wise to not go mad on Fiorentina away from home. Sampdoria have pretty average xG figures, as you would expect for a team in a relegation battle, and when you look at the figures under 2.5 goals looks a very nice option here. Unders is trading 2.14 and I’d have it odds on personally – both sides have a lot to play for and I fancy a very cagey game here. Sampdoria don’t create many chances and then Fiorentina struggle away – there’s a lot in the favour of unders here.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Under 2.5 goals at 2.14 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

JUVENTUS V LAZIO

7.45pm We finish the evening with a cracker as Juventus host Lazio! Fourth meets fifth in the Serie A table in what should be a very enjoyable fixture to sit down and watch on a Monday night. Juventus lost their last fixture away to Genoa and they played pretty badly too – they conceded an xG of 3.11 – but they have enough of a cushion over Lazio to not worry about their place in the top four. Of course we all know that wasn’t the case for the whole season – in the early stages of the season they were a mid-table side and it looked like they would miss out on Champions League football next season! They really turned things around mid-season and gained some superb momentum, however I would suggest that they aren’t anywhere close to as good as they were with Ronaldo in the side – the two Milan sides are a long way ahead of them now. This is a more important fixture for Lazio compared to Juventus, because if Fiorentina can win earlier then Lazio will be under a lot of pressure for that fifth spot. They would have been glad to see Roma drop points on Saturday as they were their main challenger – a loss here would really open things up going into the final day of the season though. It’s easy to understand why we have an open market here – Lazio have a lot to play for while Juventus have nothing, and then of course there hasn’t been much between the sides this season anyway.

I wouldn’t be very confident on this game because Juventus have home advantage and on paper, they deserved to be the favourites – that is obvious. However, I would be very worried about that Genoa performance and the fact that they have nothing to play for here. Remember when Juventus lifted the title early enough in 2019/20 – they lost three of their last four games with nothing to play for! I would be very worried about that happening again given they can’t be caught for fourth and the gap to third is probably too big at this stage. From that point of view I like a small lay of Juventus at 2.4 – I expect Lazio to make the game closer than those odds suggest and I would have the sides closer together in the market, even very similar prices around 2.8. Lazio have been in solid form lately, although they did come up short against AC Milan recently, they have been creating enough to get a result here. While Juventus have been good enough to be top four this season, their xG figures haven’t been overly impressive and they haven’t been creating chances for fun. I just expect a very close game here, and a small Juventus lay looks the right call.

The Ultra Says:
One point lay (liability) Juventus to beat Lazio at 2.4 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
