9pm It’s the Copa del Rey Final we all wanted on Saturday as Barcelona and Real Madrid clash in a massive El Clasico on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE! This is one of the biggest fixtures in the world so to say there’s a lot on the line is an understatement – even when it’s just bragging rights! This could be the start of a treble for Barcelona given they have a four point lead in La Liga with the fixtures ticking down, and they’re still in the Champions League too at the Semi-Final stage. For Real Madrid, it feels like they desperately need a win here – Arsenal dumped them out of the Champions League, and it’s hard to see Barcelona slipping up in La Liga.
There were plenty of rumours that Carlo Ancelotti would step aside after this fixture, not even finishing the La Liga season. I’d be surprised if that happened. And as always, Mbappe has been getting a lot of stick for having a negative impact on a system that worked so well last season – that was always going to happen if Real went backwards this season in fairness. The major problem for Real lately has been their defending though; that’s put them in so many tough spots and while we’ve seen them get out of those tough spots time-and-time again in the past, when they don’t pull off the last minute dramatic winner the knives come out.
El Clasico is always a fascinating fixture, whatever the narrative. This one feels very important though. Barcelona come into the game as the favourites at 2.28 with Real Madrid 3.15 and the draw is 4.0 at the time of writing. Real have two major injury issues coming into this game with Alaba and Camavinga out – it’s hard to argue with Barcelona being favourites. They have the best attacking figure and the best defensive figure in La Liga this season. Barcelona hammered Real 4-0 at the Bernabeu earlier in the season, and then their home El Clasico is scheduled for 11th May.
The plan for Real here is simple really – win and then win again on May 11th – put extreme pressure on Barcelona in the title race. It’s hard to make a massive case for Real here though; it’s clear that Barcelona have been the better side this season, and while the sides met many months ago in La Liga, Barcelona were much the better side. I feel like this fixture comes at a good time for Barcelona – they are on an excellent run and are playing with a tonne of confidence. Real are talking about sacking their manager and they are defending poorly – I feel the 2.28 on Barcelona is too big to ignore, and I’m happy with a confident bet at the odds in what should be a cracker!
