SATURDAY IN EUROPE: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Saturday’s top European action from La Liga, Bundesliga and Ligue One with recommended BETDAQ bets.

UNION BERLIN V BAYER LEVERKUSEN

2.30pm We are back! European football is back with a bang today as we have action from the Bundesliga, La Liga and Ligue 1 in France. All football bets are 0% Commission on BETDAQ Betting Exchange on Saturday too! There’s plenty of talking points, but we kick the day off in the Bundesliga with Union Berlin hosting Bayer Leverkusen. We obviously have a lot of action this afternoon, however this game stood out for me because it has a very open market. Union Berlin finished two points behind Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga last season, but over the whole season their performances were better. Leverkusen lost some stars in the transfer window prior to last season, and they were probably reasonably happy with their finishing position given their weakened squad.

When you look at Bayer Leverkusen games, you can’t help but see goals. The xG figures are always so high – for both sides! Seeing figures of 2.03 v 1.86 is pretty common, and you can see they enjoy playing an open game. Union Berlin aren’t shy about playing an open game either, and they were much improved last season. It’s so early in the season and sometimes teams can lack that bit of match fitness in their first three games. I’m happy to keep my stakes low, but over 2.5 goals does look very appealing here at 1.9 or bigger. Both sides like to play an open game and although the Union Berlin win is tempting, overs looks better value.

The Ultra Says:
One point win Over 2.5 goals at 1.9 with BETDAQ Exchange.

DORTMUND V EINTRACHT FRANKFURT

5.30pm Next we have the highlight of the day in my opinion. For a while last season, it looked like Dortmund would miss out on the top four in the Bundesliga. They finished on a high and actually ended up finishing in third. They did go on an incredible run; however they were helped by the loss of form by Eintracht Frankfurt too. I have to say I was very surprised to see Dortmund as short as 1.45 here. The market seems to think they are the only side who can realistically challenge Bayern Munich for the title, but I feel they are still a good bit away from that. Frankfurt did have a poor finish last season, which is unfortunate for them because they missed out on the Champions League, but the Dortmund lay looks a great play here at 1.45.

The xG results would put Frankfurt into fourth, but you have to remember there was only one point between them and Wolfsburg, so it was a very fine margin anyway. In my view, I feel RB Leipzig are a better side than Dortmund, and they are bigger challengers but let’s see how the season goes. I’m keen to see how Dortmund do this season, especially without Sancho too. Frankfurt are a rock solid side in my view, and Dortmund are definitely worth laying here. I would have a bigger stake if it wasn’t for the first week of the season. Let’s see how Dortmund do this year, last season they were well off the pace until the run-in.

The Ultra Says:
One point lay Dortmund to beat Eintracht Frankfurt at 1.45 with BETDAQ Exchange.

PSG V STRASBOURG

8pm Paris has been buzzing this week with the news that Lionel Messi has arrived into town! PSG now have an incredible side, and they also have an incredible manager now too. It will be exciting to see what they can do in the Champions League this season – but you have to feel that the French League will be a formality. Although you could have easily said that for last season and Lille managed to win the league by a point – however now that Messi is here they have gone to a completely different level. I think it’s fair to say Messi would have preferred to stay in Barcelona but they simply couldn’t afford his wage bill with the financial fair play rules. One wonders how PSG can stay within the rules given their squad and spending, but that’s a question I can’t answer.

Ligue 1 started a week before the rest of Europe, and PSG were one of four sides to win their opening fixture. Lille could only managed a draw, so PSG already have an edge in the title race. This will be a case of how many goals can PSG score rather than will they win. The markets agree with the home side trading 1.22 – that might appeal to money buyers given its 0% Commission; however I won’t be tipping such a short price. The 1.62 on PSG -1.5 goals offers way more value in my opinion. Strasbourg are a very limited side who finished towards to bottom of the table last season – I expect an easy PSG win.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win PSG -1.5 goals to beat Strasbourg at 1.62 with BETDAQ Exchange.

ALAVES V REAL MADRID

9pm We finish the day in La Liga with Real Madrid away to Alaves. Real Madrid fans would have been keeping a very close eye on the Messi story at Barcelona and I’m sure they would have been delighted to see him go. Barcelona’s form dipped last season, but he was still carrying the side at times. With Messi gone, it’s a clear road to the title for Real Madrid now. However, Atletico Madrid will have something to say about that – after all they did lift the title last season! Real started last season very slowly, and Carlo Ancelotti will be keen to see a fast start after coming in. Alaves were involved in a relegation battle last season, so Real should have no trouble getting three points to start the season.

I know Real weren’t fully reliable last season, but I have to say I was very surprised to see them as big as 1.5 for this fixture when I clicked into the market. I was thinking they would be closer to 1.4 given the gulf in class between the sides. I can see why football traders would want to lay them – it’s early in the season and they had a slow start last season. However, I can’t see a slow start again given they have a new manager desperate to impress. Alaves were in big trouble last season too but finished strongly. I’m confident on a Real win here, but I’m not going to go mad given it’s the first day of the season – the 1.5 is still a confident bet, just not a Max Bet yet!

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Real Madrid to beat Alaves at 1.5 with BETDAQ Exchange.
