LA LIGA and BUNDESLIGA: Our football tipster The Ultra previews Sunday’s matches between ESPANYOL v ATLETICO MADRID, GLADBACH v ARMINIA BIELEFELD and REAL MADRID v CELTA VIGO all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

ESPANYOL V ATLETICO MADRID

1pm We have a fantastic Sunday ahead in Europe and we start the action early with Espanyol hosting La Liga Champions Atletico Madrid. I have to say Atletico Madrid look superb value at 1.96 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange for this game. Those odds jump right of the page in my view. Espanyol topped the table in the Segunda last season, and to be fair to them two draws from their opening three games isn’t a bad start for them in La Liga but Atletico should totally outclass them here. The 1.96 is just too big to ignore. Atletico hit their first bump in the road before the International break with a 2-2 draw at home to Villarreal but they were very unlucky – they created an xG of 1.99 and conceded 0.40. They deserved to win the game and make it three from three.

Espanyol will likely try to keep things tight, so I can see Atletico having to grind out a result rather than running up a big score line. In Espanyol’s three games so far we have only saw one goal, so they generally keep games quiet! That comes at a cost up front however and they haven’t created too much. They actually played well against Villarreal with home advantage too before Atletico played them, but they created an xG of 0.45 v Mallorca and 0.61 v Osasuna. I can see them putting XI behind the ball to try and stop Atletico, but Atletico do love those battles and tend to find a goal in the second half. You might try bigger than 1.96 if you wait until in-running, but the 1.96 before the game looks massive to me and it’s worth a confident bet.

The Ultra Says:
Four points win Atletico Madrid to beat Espanyol at 1.96 with BETDAQ Exchange.

GLADBACH V ARMINIA BIELEFELD

6.30pm Next we move over to the Bundesliga where we have a fascinating evening kick off. After breaking into the top four in 2019/20, Gladbach have gone backwards massively since. They had to settle for eighth last season and now they find themselves on the backfoot very early in this season with only one draw from their first three games. Ironically, they draw came against Bayern Munich before they went on to lose 4-0 to Bayer Leverkusen and 2-1 to Union Berlin. Looking at the underlining numbers, it’s not difficult to see where their issue is. It’s definitely at the back – they have conceded xG figures of 3.13, 1.76 and 1.72 in their opening three games. I know they like to play an open game but when they don’t take their chances, they are punished at the other end. They need to tighten things up at the back.

One side who do keep things tight in Arminia Bielefeld, they have to given their lack of quality in fairness, but they come into this fixture with three draws from three games. They have created much – their xG figures read 0.65, 0.76 and 0.64. They haven’t played a top real side either and they also conceded more than they created. They could have easily lost on three games – their xG conceded figures were 1.66, 2.15 and 1.54. I know Gladbach are having major issues at the back, but despite the goals they concede they do create a lot going forward. That’s where the game will be won here – Arminia Bielefeld don’t have enough quality to take advantage of Gladbach at the back, so a home win looks a very straightforward play here at 1.48.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Gladbach to beat Arminia Bielefeld at 1.48 with BETDAQ Exchange.

REAL MADRID V CELTA VIGO

8pm We move back to La Liga to finish a superb Sunday as Real Madrid host Celta Vigo. Carlo Ancelotti would have been reasonably pleased with the start of the season before the International break and Real sat top of the table after three games. A host of sides had seven points however, including Atletico Madrid and Barcelona. Real’s blip came away to Levante, but Ancelotti would have been happy with the performances and an xG of 2.16. They face a Celta Vigo side now still searching for their first win after two losses and a draw to start their season – they started this weekend sitting just inside the bottom three. They should still prove to be a decent test for Real however, as they played well against Atletico in the first game of the season, I’m sure they felt unlucky to lose 2-1 having created an xG of 2.17 to 1.73.

Their performance afterwards against Osasuna was more than a little worrying however, especially because this is their next away game. They might have come away with a 0-0 draw, however they conceded an xG of 2.87! Osasuna absolutely bossed the game and Celta could only create an xG of 0.10. If they perform like that away from home all season they won’t pick up many points. It’s all about the odds here and although backing at 1.4 won’t be for everyone, I can’t see a better value bet here than Real at 1.4. They have started the season with confidence and come into the game in good form – Celta have been giving away a lot of chances and you just can’t do that away to Real Madrid. I feel this will be a smooth home win, and Real are a selection for any Acca today!

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Real Madrid to beat Celta Vigo at 1.4 with BETDAQ Exchange.
