PORTUGAL V SPAIN

8pm It’s Nations League Final time on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE after two wonderful Semi-Finals saw Portugal and Spain come out on top. It’s been a very entertaining week so far, hopefully we can finish it off now with an excellent Final! Most of the narrative coming into this game is going to be around Cristiano Ronaldo v Lamine Yamal. It’s the old experienced head against the new kid on the block in that sense, and that’s going to be all the talk coming into this game. Whatever the result, you have to hand it to Ronaldo being here at 40 years old and scoring the winning goal in the Semi-Final too – even if it did look offside!

Spain were impressive in the Semi-Final; obviously the score line got close in the end – it was almost like Spain switched off after going 4-0 up. France haven’t been at their best for a while now, but they were absolutely blown away to begin with – it’s worth noting though that France actually finished the game with a higher xG created. Both sides had a penalty, so that was a pretty fair reflection of the xG figures. Given the hype around Spain at the moment, it’s no surprise that they come into the game as the favourites. Spain are trading 2.0 with Portugal 4.0 and the draw is 3.9 at the time of writing.

Germany might have gone into the first Semi-Final as the favourites, and obviously there was a lot of debate around the Ronaldo goal, but Portugal finished the game with the higher xG figure. Possibly a reflection on Germany struggled at the moment is that they had more possession but created less. I can understand Spain being the favourites here, but for me I would have them a little bigger than 2.0. Portugal have been impressive lately; and I feel this one will be closer than the odds suggest.

I’m happy to keep stakes reasonably low, because there’s no getting away from the fact that Spain have been excellent lately and are current European Champions after all – but from a value point of view I’m happy with a small lay at 2.0 on Spain. It’ll be interesting to see what type of game we get here – Portugal haven’t been exceptionally open, especially in big games. While Spain v France was carnage at both ends of the pitch. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.66 – for me in such a big game that’s a little short. We tend to see games get very cagey when we get to the Final. I’m happy to stay out of that market, and have a small lay of Spain in what should be a good game.

The Ultra Says:
One point lay (liability) Spain to beat Portugal at 2.0 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
