WEDNESDAY’S BUNDESLIGA: Our football tipster The Ultra previews Wednesday’s games between GLADBACH v EINTRACHT FRANKFURT and AUGSBURG v RB LEIPZIG both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

GLADBACH V EINTRACHT FRANKFURT

5.30pm We have another busy night in the Bundesliga on Wednesday, and two fixtures caught my eye on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. We start the evening early and we have a very interesting game as Gladbach host Eintracht Frankfurt. It’s fair to say that neither side will be happy with their performance level this season, but things are going worse for Gladbach at the moment. They actually aren’t far away from a relegation battle to be honest. Perhaps the bottom two are nailed on to go down, but that relegation playoff spot is wide open and Gladbach aren’t far away from it. They are too good to go down, but they need points soon! Much like Eintracht Frankfurt who were in the relegation mix at one stage earlier in the season, they are also far too good to go down, and they have shot up the table in recent weeks. They started the midweek fixture just inside the top half, and they have overtaken Gladbach. This market caught my eye because Gladbach are big favourites, but they come into the game having conceded 14 goals in their last three games.

Those figures are obviously very eye-catching. They were hammered by RB Leipzig at the weekend when losing 4-1, and they actually conceded an xG of over 4 so it could have been worse too. They were unlucky to concede six to Freiburg and four to Koln, but the issue is Gladbach have been conceding too many chances all season. Every game you look at, they are conceding an reasonably high xG and that’s just going to catch up with them. They haven’t been that bad this season, they have just been playing too open. Eintracht Frankfurt have definitely been way off their usual standard this season, and their fall has been dramatic but they do come into the game with high confidence. Even in their recent loss against Hoffenheim, they finished with an xG of over double that they conceded. They were lucky to score five at the weekend against Bayer Leverkusen but they do come into the game with momentum and I just can’t have Gladbach at 2.02 here. I feel those odds are very short and we’ll see a much closer game. It’s not quite a Max Bet lay, but a confident lay.

The Ultra Says:
Four points lay (liability) Gladbach to beat Eintracht Frankfurt at 2.02 with BETDAQ Exchange.

AUGSBURG V RB LEIPZIG

7.30pm We have four games kicking off at this time, but Augsburg v RB Leipzig is the most interesting in my opinion. RB Leipzig just haven’t been themselves this season, I think everyone agrees with that, however that’s what happens when you let yourself be raided by Bayern Munich during the summer! After exiting the Champions League, which in fairness to them handed them a very tough Group, they actually got a very tricky tie in the Europa League against Real Sociedad – that will be an interesting game to watch! They have been very up-and-down in the Bundesliga this season, and they’re going to have to work very hard to get back in the top four. At the start of the midweek round of fixtures they sat in 7th place, five points off Hoffenheim in fourth. That’s nothing that they can’t turn around, but the problem is they have been so inconsistent it’s hard to have faith in them putting a good run of results together. This is a clear chance for them against Augsburg who are in the relegation playoff spot, but you wouldn’t be overly confident on Leipzig either. They just aren’t a side to “lump on” this year, as they say!

Augsburg recorded a massive 2-0 win at the weekend over Koln which keeps them in touch of the sides around them. The bottom two sides look very average, so I can’t see them catching and going past Augsburg – that lets them just focus on getting ahead of the sides around them. The home side actually come into the game playing good football. They were a little lucky to beat Koln at the weekend, but they were very unlucky last weekend against Bochum – they created an xG of 3.33 and lost 3-2. In the home game prior to that one, they beat Bayern Munich! That was obviously a little lucky, but they did keep Bayern to an xG of 1.18 which is an achievement. The recent Augsburg home form is actually very strong – high xG figures and they generally don’t concede much. Leipzig are priced too short for me here at 1.5 and I’m happy to have a reasonably small lay on them from a value point of view. Augsburg will make this very tough for Leipzig, and they haven’t been playing well enough to justify 1.5.

The Ultra Says:
Two points lay (liability) RB Leipzig to beat Augsburg at 1.5 with BETDAQ Exchange.
