UEFA NATIONS LEAGUE: We preview Friday’s Nations League games between AUSTRIA v NORTHERN IRELAND and CROATIA v ENGLAND with recommended BETDAQ bets.
AUSTRIA v NORTHERN IRELAND
7.45pm This is a very tough game for Northern Ireland and the pressure is on with Bosina already on six points in Group B3. Both these sides obviously lost against Bosina and now this a huge clash if they want to have any chance of getting into League A. Northern Ireland would happily take a draw and would then hope to avoid relegation with home advantage if Bosina have top spot locked up already.
Austria are odds on favourites, with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; Austria 1.65, Northern Ireland 7.2 and the draw is 3.85. Bosnia beating Austria may have come as a surprise to many even allowing for the fact Bosina were at home. Austria had won five of their six matches going into that clash and with Northern Ireland always performing better at home compared to away from home; we feel Austria look big here at 1.65. They have beaten the likes of Germany in recent months and they should be able to handle Northern Ireland with home advantage.

CROATIA v ENGLAND
7.45pm It already feels so long ago since we had a wonderful World Cup this summer, but now England will get a quick chance at revenge in a ‘ghost game’ played in an empty stadium due to a UEFA sanction against the home side. Croatia broke English hearts in extra time and even an England win here won’t heal the disappointment of the semi-final. Croatia are an excellent side, as we saw at the World Cup; however they started this campaign with a 6-0 loss away to Spain so England will be looking at that result feeling that they can win here.
We have a very open market, with the match odds at the time of writing currently trading; Croatia 2.8, England 3.0 and the draw is 3.2. With Spain already beating both these sides this is a fight to not get relegated rather than winning the Group. Obviously a draw would suit England a lot more than it would suit Croatia and Southgate will have that in mind. England performed much better than Croatia did against Spain and with Croatia coming off an embarrassing 6-0 loss we’re happy to support England here and lay Croatia at 2.8. Having the draw on side looks very appealing and Croatia look ten ticks too short.
