WORLD CUP: We preview Sunday’s three World Cup games between COSTA RICA v SERBIA, GERMANY v MEXICO and BRAZIL v SWITZERLAND each with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

COSTA RICA V SERBIA

1pm The World Cup rolls onto another day and after all the drama between Portugal and Spain the other night, we get to see Germany and Brazil start their campaigns today. First we start with Costa Rica taking on Serbia though – many Irish fans will know Serbia well as they topped their Group in qualifying, and they are odds on favourites to get off to a winning start here.

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Costa Rica 5.4, Serbia 1.89 and the draw is 3.45. Serbia have a striker in excellent form in the shape of Aleksandar Mitrovic and he’ll be hoping he can carry his country to success after putting Fulham back in the Premier League. He’s also scored 14 goals in his last 18 games for Serbia, so he’s definitely one to watch. We feel that Serbia are too big here at 1.89 – this is a the best side they’ve taken to a World Cup in recent times and they can outclass this Costa Rica side.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Serbia to beat Costa Rica at 1.89.

GERMANY V MEXICO

4pm The very reliable Germans get their World Cup campaign started today, and they always prove bomb proof in Group stages at major tournaments so we expect nothing less than a win here. Since 2012, they have won seven of nine unbeaten games in the Group stages of major tournaments. Mexico have never beaten Germany in a competitive fixture; however they will be no pushovers and will make Germany work hard for the win here.

Germany are heavy favourites, with the match odds at the time of writing currently; Germany 1.51, Mexico 8.0 and the draw is 4.6. Mexico will fancy their chances in their other two games in this Group – so we can’t see them wanting to play an open game here and ship plenty of goals to Germany. It’s hard to see past Germany in this one, they come into the tournament in excellent form and we feel that the 1.51 on them to win is simply too big.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Germany to beat Mexico at 1.51.

BRAZIL V SWITZERLAND

7pm It’s time to have a look at the favourites! Brazil start their World Cup campaign as favourites to lift the Trophy on BETDAQ and it will be very interesting to see how they play here. They had a horrible time at the last World Cup when they hosted the tournament; and possibly you could say that they are too short in the outright market this time around – however let’s focus on this 90 minute market!

The match odds at the time of writing currently trade; Brazil 1.42, Switzerland 10.0 and the draw is 4.9. Since the Cope America in 2016, they have a new manager in Tite and have lost just once under him thus far – they’ve also won 17 of their 21 games! OK some of their opposition in that run has been well below the level required here, however it is impressive nonetheless. Switzerland will be no pushovers though, and arrive into this World Cup with an impressive record too. They have lost just once in 17 competitive fixtures and perhaps that makes the 1.42 on Brazil look a little short considering they’ll be under immense pressure to get off to a winning start. We can see this game being tighter than the market suggests, and with under 2.5 goals trading 2.1 – we’re happy to back those odds in what could be a very close game.

BETDAQ BEST BET:
Under 2.5 goals at 2.1.
