CORK BEST BETS: SHAMROCK heads to Cork on Thursday for his best bet of the day which comes in the opening race at 2.25.
A disappointing day at the office yesterday.
Will try and get the naps back on track at Cork today with the Eddie Lynam trained Falcao in the opening Blackwater Maiden over six furlongs.
Unlike the majority of his rivals, he has some scope for further improvement – there are some long term maidens in the field. Falcao has improved in his two starts since his Tipperary debut and last time out finished fourth to Downforce at Down Royal (Compass Hill was sixth in that race). He led that day and was still in front with a furlong to go in the seven furlong race so the drop back to six looks sensible.
Falcao’s stable companion Future Icon looks a big danger. She has been placed in better races than this but is held by Compass Hill on Naas form.
The well bred Chapter Hill certainly comes into reckoning but the early BETDAQ signs are not particularly positive.
