THE PERFECT WEEKEND: It was the perfect weekend for SHAMROCK with SIX WINNING BETS FROM SIX including a double and treble on BETDAQ MULTIPLES…… oh, and Willie Mullins didn’t do badly either…..
THE PERFECT SIX !!!
What a weekend.
The ammunition in the Willie Mullins yard is simply U-N-B-E-L-I-E-V-A-B-L-E and thankfully I didn’t try and get any of his horses beaten this weekend.
All six bets won over the weekend.
Yesterday’s bets were:
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: A TOI PHIL (1.20 Leopardstown) WON 6/4
NEXT BEST: FAUGHEEN (1.55 Leopardstown) WON 3/10
TREBLE: Above two with DOUVAN (1.55 Leopardstown) WON 2/1 (approx BETDAQ MULTIPLES odds at time of writing)
Following on from Saturday’s bets:
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Un De Sceaux (3.00 Ascot) WON 1/2
NEXT BEST: Vroum Vroum Mag (1.50 Ascot) WON 4/6
DAQ MULTIPLES: Double the above two WON 7/4 (approx BETDAQ MULTIPLES odds at time of writing)
Of course, many of the prices were skinny – how can you blame the layers or bookmakers? It’s market forces and punters wanted Mullins winners at virtually any price.
Once again though – the value of BETDAQ MULTIPLES struck home with a 2/1 TREBLE on Sunday following up my 7/4 ASCOT DOUBLE on Saturday.
Faugheen and Douvan were both outstanding yesterday but I was particularly impressed with my NAP A Toi Phil who landed the Grade 2 novice hurdle in fine style by seven lengths at 6/4.
Mullins said after the race: “He’s learning and maturing all the time. He was more like a racehorse today compared to his previous few runs. It was two and a half miles today, and I’d say he’d have no problem going out to three miles. He’s a very accurate jumper and he’ll be entered in all the novice hurdles at Cheltenham. He will probably go for either the Neptune or the Albert Bartlett. I doubt if he will run again before Cheltenham.”
As an added carrot, yesterday’s sponsors Nathaniel Lacy & Partners Solicitors have put up a handy €25,000 bonus to the stable staff of the winner if he goes on to win at this year’s Cheltenham Festival.
They might just be seeking out a little insurance this morning against that offer!
Irish racing resumes at Thurles on Wednesday.
