8 OUT OF 12 NAPS: SHAMROCK bids to keep his good run of naps going at Fairyhouse this afternoon.
No awards for originality (or price) but Seven Nation Army looks sure to lose his maiden tag in the opener at Fairyhouse this afternoon.
His only two career wins were when trained by David Pipe. He was good enough to win a Listed bumper at Ascot in 2013 and since then has changed stables twice. He was with Tom George when notching up a sequence of four seconds and has since moved to Henry De Bromhead.
He made his debut for his new stable in December when eighth (but only beaten 10 lengths) and should appreciate what looks a big drop in class today.
Be The Hero is the obvious danger from the Gordon Elliott yard. He finished a good second in a maiden hurdle over 2m 7f at Navan so it’s a little surprising to see him dropped back in trip.
As expected, Barry Geraghty has appealed the 30-day ban he was issued by stewards at Limerick following his ride aboard Noble Emperor on Sunday. The appeal is likely to be heard next week.
