THREE WINNING BETS FROM THREE: SHAMROCK was in good form at Newmarket and Sligo yesterday with three winning bets from three !!
A good result yesterday with place returns from both Ballydoyle and Alice Springs (in particular) in the 1000 Guineas and a winning nap at Sligo with Orangey Red at 6/5.
Two Group races at the Curragh this afternoon:
3:35 Canford Cliffs European Breeders Fund Athasi Stakes (Group 3) (3yo+, Class 1, 7f, 7 runners)
Ainippe looks the class act here. She twice won at this level last season and rounded off the campaign with a creditable third in the Group 1 Matron Stakes at Leopardstown. She goes well on a firmer surface and despite having to give weight all round looks very much the one to beat.
4:10 Camelot European Breeders Fund Mooresbridge Stakes (Group 3) (4yo+, Class 1, 1m 2f, 5 runners)
This looks very much a match between the top two on the card with preference for Aidan O’Brien’s Found who was a beaten odds-on favourite here on his seasonal reappearance but should be fitter for the run and will enjoy this ground more. Fascinating Rock is very much respected – he won a Group 1 on Champions Day but in contrast to the selection seems to favour softer ground.
