WIN AND PLACE NAP THIRD AT 8/1: A nice BETDAQ place return on the nap Elegant Pose last night in the Listed Hurry Harriet Stakes at Gowran Park.
Elegant Pose ran a cracker in the Hurry Harriet Stakes at Gowran Park last night to justify the win and place nap recommendation when she finished third at 8/1.
She traded odds-on in running when taking up the lead a furlong out but it looked to be lack of experience rather than anything else that saw her overhauled in the closing stages.
Group 3 action at Leopardstown tonight with the Desmond Stakes at 7.10.
It’s a race generally won by one of the front two in the betting although Tribal Beat popped up at 9/1 last year for Jim Bolger who has another longshot in tonight’s field with Flight Risk – officially the best Irish trained horse in the field.
Morandi comes over from Roger Varian’s stable but might find this tough after scrambling home to win a Listed race by a short head last time out. The grey has won four of his six starts and is still capable of improvement
I prefer the chances of Alexios Komnenos who was a half length and neck behind two of tonight’s rivals True Valour and Sea Wolf in a Listed contest at the Curragh but I think that form will be reversed.
Alexios Komnenos has only had three starts compared to the 22 of Sea Wolf and eight of True Valour.
