LISTED RACE NAP AT LIMERICK: SHAMROCK’s Saturday nap runs in the Listed Martin Molony Stakes at 3.10.
Heavy ground is the order of the day at Limerick where the feature race is the Martin Molony Stakes at 3.10.
This should be one for Dermot Weld who saddles Zawraq. He has won two of his four races and finished runner-up in the other two and crucially proved he could handle the heavy ground at Listowel last time out when second to Riven Light in a Listed contest. He was staying on well in the closing stages that day and should be suited by the step up in trip to a mile and a half today.
Cannonball looks the big danger. He has a similar lightly raced profile as the selection and is also suited by give in the ground. He certainly wasn’t disgraced when fourth in a Group 3 at Leopardstown last time out over today’s mile and a half trip.
Glamorous Approach has a much more exposed profile but loves the ground and is a class dropper having competed in Group company in each of her last three starts.
