A cracking card at Navan today with three Graded races in a row including the Fortria Chase.
I’m sticking with what I hope will be a chasing star of the future with Footpad who makes his chasing debut in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase at 2.45pm.
With a smooth first run today he will surely emerge as one of this seasons top prospective novice chasers if his hurdling form is anything to go by.
He rounded off last season with a fourth in the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham and then third to Unowhatimeanharry Ladbrokes Champion Stayers Hurdle at Punchestown.
Gordon Elliott’s Brelade hasn’t done much wrong in his two starts over fences, finishing second in both but doesn’t look in the same class as Footpad.
