FESTIVAL COMES EARLY WITH GLASTONBURY: SHAMROCK looks ahead to the 6.30 on the Dundalk card on Friday.

I wish the fog had arrived a little earlier at Clonmel yesterday šŸ™Ā the last two races had to be called off.

Earlier in the card, my nap Draconien was thumped by Beyond The Law in the Munster Hurdle.

Fair play to colleague DAQMAN who found a form angle in on Beyond The Law and pointed out a crazy price differential. The bravery was rewarded with a 7/1 winner – available at much better odds on BETDAQ earlier in the day.

Iā€™m on a recovery mission at Dundalk tonight and thought Glastonbury Song was a good bet in the 6.30pm. Itā€™s a rare non-handicap at the track and on ratings Glastonbury Song and Captain Joy are some way clear.

I thought the key factor was that Glastonbury Song appears to be running into form and Captain Joy going the other way.

Glastonbury Song is relatively lightly raced and has been set some tough assignments including in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot where he finished last of the 20 runners last year.

This looks much more his level though and there was plenty of encouragement from his course and distance second in December. Captain Joy was just over a length behind him in sixth that day and I expect the form to be confirmed despite a 3lb swing in favour of the Captain.

SHAMROCKā€™S BETS:
NAP: Glastonbury Song (6.30 Dundalk)
