DAQMAN IN PROFIT AGAIN WITH 9-2 AND 11-4 WINS Daqman struck a winning note with his nap for the second time in three days yesterday, when he finished 11.50 points in profit, thanks to:
WON 9-2 VALE OF KENT
WON 11-4 PIPERS NOTE (nap)
Daqman’s two naps out of three included Saturday’s supernap:
WON 5-4 QUORTO (supernap, Saturday)
HALFWAY HOUSE DAY 2: JOCKEYING FOR POSITION: It’s halfway house in the Flat season. Who’s doing best? Daqman answered that question yesterday as far as trainers are concerned. Now he takes a look at the jockeys’ table.
TUESDAY BETS: Early start for DAQMAN on Tuesday with his nap running in the opening 2.00 at Beverley.
THE REAL ENGLAND STRIKERS!
So much for the end of the lightweight jockey. With handicaps ever narrower in weight range, the ‘experts’ have been telling us that the days of the lightweight are ‘long gone’ (quote unquote one of the 200).
But David Egan (lowest riding weight, 7st 9lb), Silvestre De Sousa (8st 2lb), Paul Hanagan (8st 1lb), Franny Norton, Luke Morris and Joe Fanning (all 8st) would all beg to differ.
In fact, Norton, Nolan and Danny Tudhope are the stars of the season insofar as all are poised to pass their last year’s total, all hiking their strike rates.

DIAMONIQUE TO SHINE AT BEVERLEY
2.00 Beverley There was plenty to like about the debut of Diamonique at Pontefract.
Despite starting at 33/1 and being slowly away, she was a real eye catcher in the closing stages and stayed on nicely into third spot.
The form of the race has been given a triple boost with winner Comedy going on to score comfortably at Doncaster and the runner-up Dancing On A Dream running well enough in better company at Chester next time out.
Furthermore, Pink Iceburg who finished fourth, a length behind Diamonique, came out to win at Yarmouth last week.
Diamonique is stepping down in trip but so too is principal rival Salmon Fishing who was restless in the stalls at Thirsk last time out but still improved significantly on his Chelmsford debut to take third. The form of that race isn’t working out so well though – the runner-up Mister Dependable was a well beaten sixth at Wolverhampton next time out.
4.50 Chelmsford This class 3 handicap is by far the best race of the day at Chelmsford – even though we are down to five runners with both Cape Icon and Executive Force non runners.
Fastar is the favourite and is continuing to run well despite shooting up the weights after his Haydock heavy ground win. Although sixth at Newcastle last time out he was only beaten just over a length in a competitive and valuable class 2 handicap.
Glory Awaits and Sir Hamilton are closely matched on course and distance form from last time out and The Warrior but Fastar has a touch of class and can see them both off.
7.40 Thirsk I can’t see any reason why Penwood shouldn’t reverse the form with Sharp Style who is penalised for his Windsor debut win. Penwood was only a length behind in third and now gets a 7lb pull.
It looks a match between the pair now that Sparkalex is a non runner.
