The two Milanese clubs have had hugely contrasting seasons as AC Milan top Serie A, while Inter made one of their worst starts to a campaign in their history. AC Milan currently lead the pack on goal difference ahead of Juventus and they’ll be looking to maintain their advantage over the weekend.
AC Milan are favourites coming into the derby as they hold home advantage, while they have also won the last three fixtures between the sides. Although it seems discussions with Carlos Tevez have stumbled, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is having an excellent season up front and leads the scoring charts for Milan. The Swedish striker has bagged 12 goals in 14 Serie A games and will provide the main threat up top here.
The hosts also lead the scoring charts in the league with 37 goals in 17 matches, which is ten more than Inter.
Inter took just four points from their opening six games, but they have taken significant strides up the table over the past few weeks.
Both sides have been impressive at the back in recent weeks and this looks likely to be settled by a single goal. AC Milan have won their past six home league matches on the spin and have conceded just once in the process. With home support and the head-to-head dominance, the league leaders are in good shape for the win.
