PREVIEW

Crystal Palace could be just 90 minutes away from making a surprise trip to Wembley where they’ll either meet Liverpool or Manchester City. Palace edged the first leg with an Antony Gardner first-half header, but they can expect a fightback from an inform Cardiff City.

Dougie Freedman’s side were undone at Blackpool at the weekend by two late goals to lose 2-1. That was Palace’s fourth defeat in six away league games and they’ve really struggled for goals during that period. Only four goals have arrived for Palace in their past six and they’ll need a much improved effort in South Wales to reach the final.

Cardiff picked up an important 3-2 win over Portsmouth on Saturday and that sets the side up perfectly for tonight’s cup game. That victory moved the Bluebirds up into third place and their home form has been superb of late. Craig Conway’s 90th minute strike sealed Cardiff’s fifth win in six home league games and they have only been beaten on their own turf twice since August.

The host’s have also averaged two goals per game in their past six home league games and Palace don’t look to have the quality at the back to pick up an unlikely away win. Palace have lost their past two away league games and I fancy another here at around 1.72 on Betdaq.

RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)

Back Cardiff at around 1.72: 6 points

Monday’s Return: -6 points
