‘HUGE’ OFFERS RATE A 50-POINT TARGET THIS AFTERNOON: Daqman has a supernap at short odds and a bull’s-eye bet at ‘huge’ offers as he gears up for a long weekend of top-class racing, with Cheltenham, Doncaster and Newbury opening their meetings tomorrow. Today’s headlines:

BETDAQ THE WEEKEND BANKER
It’s a Premier League weekend. Aintree, Cheltenham Doncaster, Newbury and Wincanton are all racing this weekend. I’m looking forward to the big races in England but there are hot picks to be had at Galway and Leopardstown in Ireland:
2.20 Newbury, Saturday: St Simon Stakes (top trainer: Andrew Balding)
2.50 Newbury, Saturday: Horris Hill Stakes (Team Hannon)
3.25 Doncaster, Saturday: Futurity Trophy (Aidan O’Brien)
2.45 Wincanton, Sunday: Desert Orchid Silver Cup (Paul Nicholls)
3.00 Aintree, Sunday: Old Roan Chase (Paul Nicholls)
⚠️ HEADS UP: Hey, that’s my race! Trainers are creatures of habit and they like to find a race they can dominate year on year. Where a stable places its novices is often significant.
Visioman (3.15 Galway, Saturday) would be Henry de Bromhead’s fourth consecutive winner of this novice chase. The six-year-old is going for a hat-trick after scoring at Kilbeggan and Tipperary.
⚠️ HEADS UP: Hey, that’s our race! Aidan O’Brien and Dermot Weld have ‘owned’ the opening fillies Flat maiden at Leopardstown on Saturday for the last seven seasons, with O’Brien 4, Weld 3.
O’Brien’s best returns in those years are 11211; Weld 11410. But particularly significant is that all three of Weld’s winners were favourite. Watch the BETDAQ market! That’s a wise move all weekend, as I shall show in my column.
HERO SET FOR ‘GREAT’ THINGS
2.00 Ludlow today A winner twice before after a break; never out of the frame since last year at this time. The sole runner at Ludlow today for Dan Skelton, who’s had 17 horses placed in the last two weeks.
Dan has four runners at Southwell but this is where he asks Harry to join him for the ride on Humble Hero, the only hurdles winner in the race.
This High Chaparral five-year-old is highly thought of, working really well at home, and headed for the Greatwood Hurdle at Cheltenham (November 17) after this. Must be a supernap in this weak prep race.
3.00 Carlisle Iolani notched up a quick hat-trick in October last year and was back in the winner’s enclosure at Carlisle on the last day, his first success since.
Iolani is back at Carlisle this afternoon in a race in which nine among his 15-strong opposition have been absent 150 days or more, and three of the remainder are older than any previous winner of the race. Iolani was huge at 9.6 in the BETDAQ orange.
YES, WINNING’S EVERYTHING!
2.45 Southwell Harry Fry gives himself four chances at Southwell this afternoon to complete a hat-trick which he started with a double at Exeter on Tuesday.
The one he himself picks out is Winningseverything, making his hurdles debut under Sean Bowen for the Rooneys after three times in the first four (one win) in bumpers last season.
Garry Clermont could also be useful, as a Point winner then a bumper scorer when joining Jonjo O’Neill. Watch the market for this one.
5.20 Ludlow Lucy Wadham – one runner, one winner recently – makes a rare cross-country raid on Ludlow, though she has two starters at Southwell. Leighton Aspell goes along for the solo ride on Gregarious (BETDAQ 7.6).
Gregarious has top weight but that didn’t stop him making all and going clear on good ground over this kind of trip three starts ago.
