GAVIN CROMWELL BLOG: This weekend Brand Ambassador Gavin Cromwell has runners across Ireland which he previews in detail below.
We’ve had another good week with two winners. Both Flooring Porter and Yafordadoe got the job done well, with Flooring Porter particularly impressive. We’ve got a busy weekend ahead with plenty of runners so hopefully we can keep the good run going.
Galway Saturday
Early Strike will have his first maiden hurdle (2.05pm) run at Galway. He was pretty lowly rated on the Flat, but he’s shown a bit more ability at home over hurdles and is ready to start out. Hopefully he can give a good account first time out.
We’ve got Brex Drago in the novice chase (3.15pm) who ran well at the track last time. It’s not a bad-looking race on paper, but if he can repeat that run from last time he should go okay. He’ll probably have to improve a fair amount to be winning it however.

Ensel Du Perche makes his first start for us in the maiden hurdle (3.50pm). He looks to be a fair way behind the others in the race unfortunately and he looks well up against it.
Georgieshore ran a big race the last day at Galway and he takes his chance in the handicap hurdle (5.00pm). He was going pretty well when he fell the last day and while we’ll never know how we would have finished, I’m pretty confident he would have been involved. You’d have to respect his chances on the back of that and he’d be our best chance of a winner on Saturday.
Leopardstown Saturday
Point Reyes runs in the nursery handicap (2.30pm). It’s her first run in a handicap and with the just the seven runners, we’re hoping she can improve on what she’s done so far in her career.
Later on the Leopardstown card, we run Come September in the Listed Knockaire Stakes (3.05pm). It might be coming a little bit quick for her after only running six days ago at Naas but the race looks a nice opportunity. The ground should be to her liking and we’re hoping she goes there with a solid place chance.

Galway Sunday
Tokyo Getaway runs in the maiden hurdle (1.05pm). She was a little disappointing the last day at Downpatrick and we think she’s a bit better than that, so we’d give her a small each-way chance in what looks a fairly open race.
Peaches And Cream returns after a short break in the handicap hurdle (4.00pm). He’s in good form at home and should relish the test around at Galway. It’s obviously a competitive handicap, but he has a solid chance.

Wexford Sunday
Jaunty Velocity makes her first start since joining us from the Brian Eckley yard. She runs in the handicap hurdle (2.35pm) and we’ll know much more about her after Sunday’s run. The ground would be a small concern but hopefully she can run a nice race.
