NAPS FOUR-TIMER BID: SHAMROCK landed a hat-trick of winning NAPS yesterday. He heads to Thurles today in search of the four-timer.
Eskylane landed odds of 8/15 in comfortable fashion yesterday – the sixth winning nap of 2020 and fingers crossed for four naps in a row today at Thurles.
There was plenty of frost about this morning so the course needed to pass an inspection – good news it goes ahead with two Grade 2 chases on the card.
In the Horse & Jockey Hotel Chase (Grade 2) at 2.45 it’s hard to look beyond the chance of Footpad.
The Willie Mullins trained runner is now 6/10 from fences and has run some big races in defeat too, notably when third in the King George at Kempton when last seen out which very much sets the form standard.
Prior to that, he was a winner here at Thurles over the 2m 6f trip and should resume winning ways here in a race where he has plenty in hand at the weights v official ratings.
Real Steel ran a belter when fourth to Min in the John Durkan Memorial and looks the obvious danger to his stable companion.
