2/1 WINNING NAP IN 2000 GUINEAS: SHAMROCK napped 2/1 2000 Guineas winner SISKIN at the Curragh yesterday – his only bet of the day. Now for the 1000 Guineas on Saturday.
Siskin showed his class in the 2000 Guineas getting out of a potential pocket to come storming through in the closing stages – winning by a length and three quarters but probably value for more than that. He remains unbeaten and the form looks rock solid.
Hopefully we’ll also see a good renewal of the 1000 Guineas too later this afternoon.
Albigna seems the obvious call – given the good start to the season for Jessica Harrington. She has quite a bit in hand on official ratings and has plenty of experience.
She’s a globe trotter too – winning the Group 1 Qatar Prix Marcel Boussac at Longchamp last season and then going on to finish a highly creditable fourth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Santa Anita.
Jessica Harrington has had eight winners from her last 38 runners and those successes included a Group 2 here yesterday.
Fancy Blue has won both her starts and is interesting, even with the huge step up in class.
SHAMROCK’S BETS:
NAP: Albigna (7.15 Curragh)
2020 NAPS: 28/60 +102.74 (to a 10 unit daily level stake)
