WINNER-A-DAY DAQMAN COMES UP SMELLING OF ROSA: Daqman’s back on the winner-a-day trail, with Sea La Rosa (WON 11-4) yesterday, following winning naps on Tuesday and Wednesday. Today’s nap is at Haydock, with outsiders at Brighton and Tipperary at 8.8 and 15.0.
SEVEN SATURDAY MEETINGS ON BIG-SPRINT WEEKEND: Shergar Cup day at Ascot tomorrow is threatened by thunderstorms but there are seven Saturday meetings in England and Ireland all told. Sunday is a big day for sprinters with the Phoenix at the Curragh and the Prix Maurice de Gheest at Deauville.
THE LONG AND SHORT OF THE ODDS
⚠️ HEADS UP Celerity (5.52 Haydock) has run 105 races without success, 15 times placed including second (twice) and third (twice) here at Haydock. Did you fancy the lay at 1,000.0 this morning?
⚠️ HEADS UP Oisin Murphy, who rode a five-timer at Kempton on Wednesday, landed a treble at Brighton yesterday. Murphy, who has six rides at Haydock tonight and six at Newmarket tomorrow, now moves long odds on for the jockeys’ title, 1-8 in a place.
⚠️ HEADS UP BETDAQ Sportsbook has prices on the 2021 Sports Personality Of The Year. Among the 100-1 shots is Hollie Doyle, currently the only threat to Murphy’s title bid. Winning the title would decimate her odds.
⚠️ HEADS UP William Haggas has had 10 winners from his last 22 starters, with 13 of his last 14 runners in the frame. Today’s Haggas trio: Pagan (3.00 Brighton), Sense Of Duty (5.05 Newmarket), Just Wonder (6.08 Newmarket).
HAT’S OFF ON THE TRACK HE LOVES
3.00 Brighton (Bullet) The last five winners of this had previously won or finished second on the course, and there are five who have scored over the course-and-distance.
Pagan, who had been stepped up to 7f, is back to his winning trip of 6f but is expensive to follow: three times favourite for just one win. The race looks too classy for Tyger Bay, whose success has come in class 6.
Sir Oliver is up in the weights for a class-5 strike, and the blinkers have not worked for Batchelor Boy since the first time they were tried in June, three starts back. Endowed has changed stables twice since his last win, and his stablemate, Bezzas Lad, has been in and out of the yard and back again.
Tin Hat won the race last time it was run in 2019: on the same mark now, had a run recently after a break; visor back on today. Brighton form figures of 1123. The winning jockey rides again.
BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE valuie 15.0 and 3.9 a place Tin Hat
IT’S SET UP FOR JOHN THE BAPTIST
6.00 Tipperary (Churchill Stakes) Aidan O’Brien has won this four times in eight years but faces a double handful from Ger Lyons, who has two chances to make it four times since 2014.
So it seems to be neck and neck between two trainers who have farmed the race, missing out only once.
Yet neither has the morning favourite. Leading the market for this Listed is the Gleneagles filly
Seisai for Joseph O’Brien. She’s already been placed in a Group 3, the Silver Flash at Leopardstown.
It looked a fairly solid race, won by her stablemate Agartha from Ger Lyons’ Juncture, who had already beaten Seisa easily at Leopardstown when Seisa made her debut.
Only two fillies have won in nine seasons, with the future star among the colts, Capri scoring in 2016. The eponymous Churchill never ran at Tipperary.
Shark Bay is an Australia colt who already needs all of this 7f+ But trying to outstay them from the front at the Curragh last month, he was pipped by John The Baptist.
If the pacers down to him again (no O’Brien stablemate), Shark Bay could find John The Baptist his nemesis. Maybe Glengarra will oblige and set the pace but, no matter who gives him the lead, we know the Baptist has a turn of foot left for the business end.
BETDAQ value 8.8 win John The Baptist
MAKRAM IS BRED FOR THIS TEST
6.38 Haydock Zabeel Champion’s hat-trick form on top of the ground could not be maintained on soft and heavy, including here at Haydock.
Global Heat has tailed off the last twice, after running second at Meydan to Volcanic Sky, whose form has also taken a nosedive.
Boss Power’s best form is on AW and State Of Bliss is bidding for bridesmaid of the year, with form figures of 233222; doesn’t want to win, does he.
Makram has won over 7f, 1m and 1m 2f, rising through the ratings over the last year by 18lb, yet his breeding is all for 1m 4f, his dam a full sister to Youmzain, second three times in the Arc
BETDAQ value 2.44 Makram

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….
Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
