PREVIEW
Chelsea came very close to becoming the first side to take a point from Manchester City at home for the first time in 12 months on Wednesday evening. The 2-1 scoreline somewhat flattered Chelsea in a game they were dominated in for the majority of the contest. It could have been far worse for the Blues had Tottenham beat Stoke, but it still leaves finishing fourth a tough assignment.
Roberto Di Matteo suffered his first defeat since he took charge of the Blues and it was their first real test of the four fixtures. Chelsea have enjoyed plenty of success in this fixture in the past and it’s now 22 years since Spurs won in West London.
The Blues have won five in six at home against Spurs and Di Matteo has a 100% record from his first three games at home. Fernando Torres has looked far sharper under new management and he’d love to get a league goal after his brace against Leicester in the cup.
A few weeks ago Spurs had a ten point lead on their bitter rivals and now Arsene Wenger’s side have a one point advantage That has hurt Spurs and a result at the Bridge would be the perfect way to get their season back on track. Spurs have lost three of their past four league fixtures, including their past two away outings.
Chelsea’s record against Spurs speaks volumes and my advice would be to back the home win at around 1.92 on BETDAQ.|
RECOMMENDATION: (1-10 points)
Back Chelsea at around 1.92: 6 points
Friday’s Return: +7.84 points
MARCH RETURN TO DATE: +30.62
