BET DEC V LEICESTER TIGERS (25 MARCH)

As a big Formula 1 fan I’ve been looking forward to the start of the new season and the opening race didn’t disappoint last weekend.

It was a dream start for Jenson Button in Australia and I was pleased for the McLaren man. After toiling away for years at the start of his career it was great to see him win the 2009 drivers championship and it would be brilliant if he could replicate that in 2012 after Sebastian Vettel’s dominance over the pack in the past two seasons.

McLaren haven’t started recent campaigns strongly so, with a win already in the bag, Button could be in with a real chance in what looks like being a really competitive year.

As this weekend’s Malaysian GP will be over by the time you are all reading this, I can’t have my BETDAQ punt on the race, but I think Button has a great chance of taking back-to-back chequered flags.

Instead, I’ll be putting the £25 on tomorrow night’s game between Manchester United and Fulham at Old Trafford.

I don’t think many people will disagree with me here – perhaps with the exception of the most loyal Fulham fans – but, frankly, it’s pretty much impossible to see anything other than a home win.

United have won eight on the bounce at home to the Cottagers in league and cup and they haven’t so much as conceded in the last four of those.

However, as the home win is trading at around the 1.3-mark on BETDAQ, it is better to have a look at some of the other markets.

Odds of 1.8 are available for United to be leading at half-time and full-time and that looks a better option to me – even though as an Arsenal fan I hate betting on Sir Alex Ferguson’s men!

It hasn’t been a vintage year for the Red Devils but they are still top of the table and put five unanswered goals past Wolves last weekend. They also ruthlessly beat Fulham 5-0 when the teams met at Craven Cottage in December.

Both of those wins were by the half-time/full-time double result, meanwhile Fulham lost 3-0 last time out, when they were trailing at the interval and final whistle at home to Swansea.
