His 12st off a 160 mark looks high but he’s unexposed at the trip and related down the dam’s side to an Irish National winner.
155 FIDDLERONTHEROOF (Joe Tizzard 11-9) Seems to have been around for years – four, in fact – placed 10 times in 11 chases, with best form half-length runner-up in this race last year, when 5lb lower. Grand National fifth; looked well and ran well on hurdles reappearance.
151 THREEUNDERTHRUFIVE (Paul Nicholls 11-5) Four out of five over hurdles; then four in a row novice-chasing. This target on (hopefully) good ground is important because he doesn’t want the ground too soft; wears cheekpieces first time.
147 CORACH RAMBLER (Lucinda Russell 11-1) Back-to-back strikes at Cheltenham and Aintree last backend before fourth in the Warwick Classic (3m 5f).

141 OUR POWER (Sam Thomas 10-9) Third Grade-3 trophy at Kempton in February before 5th in the Ultima in March. Won the London Gold Cup at Ascot (3m ) last month on a sound surface, with Annsam 8th.

136 LORD ACCORD (Neil Mulholland 10-4) Left novice status behind with career-best Cheltenham win last month and then run Frodon close in the Badger Beer at Wincanton; only a length down when mistake last.
COASTAL FORECAST SOUNDS GOOD
⭕ 12.45 Newbury today (Fulke Walwyn Trophy) Balco Coastal, third in a Grade-3 hurdle at Aintree, has schooled beautifully for chasing, according to trainer Nicky Henderson.
Frere d’Armes has the advantage of having won a chase already but was 13lb lower than Balco Coastal over hurdles: no worries about the drop back in trip.
Dan Skelton should know where he is with Datsalrightgino; he ran up to that one at Chepstow with Calico.
Aucunrisque is a little fella who popped around Uttoxeter but today’s Grade-1 track and better company look challenging.
Straw Fan Jack is Balco Coastal’s biggest headache, rating 142 after back-to-back chasing success at Ffos Las and Cheltenham.
He jumped really well and simply would not give in at Cheltenham to Ash Tree Meadow, a Gordon Elliott six-year-old with three wins on an eight-chase CV, including fourth to Hewick in the Galway Plate.

PAINT SHINES AT SUNNY NEWBURY
⭕ 2.30 Newbury Paint The Dream is one of two top-weights at sunshine Newbury today who can take advantage of a drop in class on the sound surface. His course form is 2-2 over fences, and he acts on any going.
He’s only 7lb higher for winning the Greatwood Gold Cup (Grade 3) here in March, and was not disgraced since in the Melling Chase (Grade 1) at Aintree and then leading the last day until three out behind Bravemansgame (3m) in the Charlie Hall.
Beakstown is 1-12 over fences and has paid for that single success with a 10lb rise.
Similarly, Killer Clown is struggling 13lb higher for wins at Wincanton and Kempton. On all known form Numitor needs rain.

BACK OF THE NET! SHEARER NAPPED
⭕ 3.40 Newbury Shearer won back to back in October and was an unlucky beaten favourite (hampered and unseated) at Cheltenham a couple of weeks ago.
He is top-weight here but Paul Nicholls expects him to keep on improving and he’s a six-year-old in a race for youngsters (5, 6 and 7yo are 8-10), though the odd experienced horse can pop up.
Steal A March won well at Worcester but this is a class higher and, overall, he is up only 6lb for two years’ effort.
It’s four years since Padleyourowncanoe won a hurdle race, and a more likely improver is Abuffalosoldier, who is unexposed over the 3m trip.
