Millwall vs Sheffield United – Saturday 15:00
Millwall are showing signs of composing their traditional mid-season playoff push, with Sunday’s convincing 3-0 win over Rotherham placing the South Londoners in sixth position, just three points below third-placed Blackburn with a game in hand. The Lions have kept three clean sheets on the bounce for the first time this season, safeguarding their record as the team with the fewest goals conceded at home in the division.
Sheffield United had to rely on a 96th-minute equaliser to avoid defeat against Queen’s Park Rangers on Monday, a result that ended their five-game winning streak and widened the gap between them and league leaders Burnley to five points. The Blades had also won their previous five games on the road until Monday’s fixture – so they’ll be hoping to regain their form away from home against a Millwall side who haven’t lost at The Den since September.
It’ll likely be a low-scoring game – the last four fixtures at the Den have only seen four goals scored – a trend that will undoubtedly suit the hosts. Millwall tend to enjoy the odd cup run, so backing the home side at 2.92 looks an appealing price.
