SLENDER SUNDAY PROFIT: Daqman finished Sunday with a small profit despite his nap Trojan Soldier going down by a half length after looking all over the winner two furlongs out. Rogue Bullet WON 5/2 saved the day when making virtually all to win the last race at Brighton.

GOOD MORNING WORCESTER: With another heatwave forecast this week Worcester have announced their six race card on Wednesday will now start at 10.30am.

TREASURE UNLOCKED

⭕ 4.35 Catterick Just the four runners heading to post for the class 5 handicap over two miles and the Betdaq Betting Exchange market looks to have got it right with Treasure Islands as the market leader.

His trainer Tim Easterby had a remarkable, across the card, six-timer on Saturday and also landed another winner at Pontefract yesterday.

Treasure Islands made all when stepped up to this trip at Ripon in April and has run well in two starts since, finishing second at Haydock and then third in a class 3 at Thirsk last time out. This is very much an easier assignment.

The two mares Valley Of Flowers and Arrange make the market for us – ensuring (at the time of writing) we are getting a shade of odds against about today’s nap.

Valley Of Flowers is up in trip after a 25/1 second over 1m 4f last time whilst Arrange seems to be out of form and even though this is a drop in class I still think she needs to be showing a lot more having been beaten an aggregate of 32 lengths in her last two races.

CAPTAIN CATTERICK

⭕ 5.10 Catterick Captain Cess can make amends for being a beaten favourite at Wetherby a week ago when he looked an unlucky loser having met trouble in the run several times. Subscribing to that theory he could be a (theoretical!) ‘winner without a penalty’ here racing off the same handicap mark of 55.

The step back up to seven furlongs should also be a positive on just his second start for the Declan Carroll yard.

War Memorial has place chances after a good third at Musselburgh last time out. He seems best on the quick ground which he gets today but I think the biggest danger is Emerald Army who goes particularly well at Catterick.

A PAIR WITH RHYTHM

⭕ 7.17 Windsor This class 3 sprint handicap is the race of the night on an otherwise quite moderate card by the Thames.

The market leaders are drawn 1-2-3 and pick of them is Mesaafi who was a course and distance winner at the beginning of June and hasn’t been over penalised with a 2lb hike in the weights.

Rhythm N Hooves is back in calmer waters having only beaten one home in the Epsom dash – the softer ground went against him that day. He gets a 3lb break from the handicapper and there shouldn’t be any excuses here.

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
