SUNDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews Sunday’s games between ALMERIA v ATLETICO MADRID, ATALANTA v SALERNITANA and RENNES v PSG all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
ALMERIA V ATLETICO MADRID
3.15pm It’s another big Sunday around Europe with action on BETDAQ Betting Exchange from La Liga, Serie A and Ligue 1! While there’s no stand-out fixture today, we have three interesting markets with Atletico Madrid, Atalanta and PSG all in action. We kick the day off in La Liga with Almeria hosting Atletico Madrid. I know we have had a big break for the World Cup, but Atletico Madrid just haven’t been on a good run lately. They went into the World Cup without a win in three La Liga games while crashing out of the Champions League too. While they returned to action with a 2-0 win over Elche, who sit bottom of the table, they dropped out of the top four last weekend with a loss at home to Barcelona. Losing to Barcelona is easily forgivable, and to be fair to Atletico Madrid they played well. They finished the game with an xG of 2.06 and should have got something from the game – while they clearly haven’t been at their best this season, that was one game they shouldn’t have lost. Hopefully they can keep that performance level going, because they need to – they have a lot of work to do in the top four race.
Atletico come into the game as the odds on favourites, and when you look at the under-lining numbers they should win this game. I fully accept the fact that Atletico haven’t fired this season, and they also haven’t taken all the chances they have been creating, but the 1.77 is too tempting to turn down. Almeria started the weekend sitting in 14th but that position doesn’t tell the full story. They are only two points away from the relegation zone, and you get the feeling they will be fully involved in the relegation battle. Their under-lining numbers aren’t impressive – they are conceding an average of two goals per game and only creating one. Those are numbers of a side who is generally in the relegation battle. I’m not going to go crazy with the stakes here because there are obvious worries with Atletico this season, but three points looks a nice position at 1.77 to start the day.
The Ultra Says:
Three points win Atletico Madrid to beat Almeria at 1.77 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

ATALANTA V SALERNITANA
5pm Next we move to Serie A as Atalanta host Salernitana. This is another very winnable game for Atalanta, and when you look at the table you could easily call this a must win game. Atalanta broke a run without a win that went back before the World Cup with a very hard fought 2-1 win away to Bologna. That has put them back on track because they started this weekend sitting in sixth, although they are level on points with Lazio and Roma around them, they are only three points off the top four. They will likely fall short of the top four, but it’s important they get a European spot this season. Salernitana start the weekend sitting down in 14th, but they are nine points away from the relegation zone and don’t have to worry about that. They have been pretty average this season though, and they have also been quite poor away from home. That’s why I view this game as a must win game for Atalanta, basically they can’t afford to drop points at home against Salernitana.
The market is very confident on the home win here, with Atalanta trading 1.4 at the time of writing. I’m sure they’ll be a popular selection in any Betdaq Multiple this weekend, and to be honest it’s very hard to see past the home win here. Atalanta have been creating decent chances going forward, and they have also been rock solid at the back. I would rather be a backer than a layer at 1.4, but they don’t give any prizes for tipping odds that short so I’m happy to look around the side markets for some value – however I wouldn’t mind tipping a 1.4 shot, 1.4 is probably my cut off odds really! Salernitana have been poor away from home this season, but they are also conceding an average xG of two goals per game this season. With stats like that I feel Atalanta can cover the handicap here – they are trading 2.03 -1.5 goals which is a very appealing bet, and that’s worth three points in my opinion.
The Ultra Says:
Three points win Atalanta -1.5 goals to beat Salernitana at 2.03 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

RENNES V PSG
7.45pm We move to France to finish a very interesting Sunday around Europe as Rennes host PSG in Ligue 1. As expected midweek, PSG got back to winning ways as they player Angers who are sitting rock bottom of the table. PSG had suffered their first loss of the season when they returned after the World Cup with a 3-1 loss away from home to Lens who sit second in the table. PSG were without some of their stars however, with Messi not back from the World Cup etc. Messi returned against Angers though, and he got on the score sheet too! Rennes are having a decent season, they started the weekend sitting within the top four, although they are a whopping 13 points behind PSG. I think it’s fair to say that there isn’t a club in Ligue 1 even though to the same level as PSG at the moment, and they will be judged on their performances in the Champions League. I know it’s very harsh on PSG, but they “only” won 2-0 against Angers – with Angers nailed to the bottom of the table and PSG at home, I expected them to score more goals! That’s what happened to Mauricio Pochettino over in France though – he was able told he wasn’t winning well enough, started changing things and ended up not even winning the title in the end!
The PSG under-lining numbers are impressive. They create an average xG of 2.1 and concede an average of 0.9. What you’d expect to see from a top club, but you can’t help expecting more given the gulf in class between the other sides in the league. Rennes away will be a reasonably tough test, and they come into this game trading 1.61. I wouldn’t be rushing to back PSG at those odds I have to say – it’s not like they are creating a host of chances and their xG was quite low against Angers. Rennes also have a good record here against PSG in Ligue 1 – they have got a result in the last three meetings. They won two of those three games as well. I’m going to keep stakes low here because it usually doesn’t pay to take on PSG in Ligue 1, but from a value point of view I expect a closer game than the odds suggest here, and I’m happy to have a small lay at 1.61. Rennes have been solid this season, especially at the back, and they can grind out a result.
The Ultra Says:
One point lay (liability) PSG to beat Rennes at 1.61 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
