FULHAM V CHELSEA

8pm We have a London Derby for Monday Night Football on BETDAQ Betting Exchange this week as Fulham host Chelsea. It’s the start of another hectic week with Champions League and Europa League action again before we have a full fixture list the weekend then head into the next International Break. Chelsea come into this game in full crisis mode – just five points from their opening six games has left Mauricio Pochettino under pressure early in the job.

He already had to defend the owners “coming to the dressing room” after the game, and we all know Chelsea have had issues with the owners for a while now. I have to say, after Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and now Mauricio Pochettino you have to start blaming the squad! The disappointing thing for Pochettino will be that he has Chelsea set up quite well. They have been creating chances but not taking them; but we did see that under Tuchel and Potter as well. They desperately need a striker, and perhaps that’s going to be a target in January. I suppose we even have to question if Pochettino will still be there given the owners trigger happy nature!

Fulham will see this game as an excellent chance to spring a surprise and pick up some points. They actually have three more points than Chelsea, but once again looking at their xG figures is a major red flag. I’d expect them to grind out enough results to stay up again – even finish mid-table again – but they really do “get away” with how many chances they concede. After last weekend, they had the second lowest average xG created at 0.86 – one of only three sides with an average xG under 1.0, and they were conceding an average xG of close to double that.

It’s hard to have any confidence in Chelsea at the moment, but looking at the Fulham stats it’s very hard to support them. Chelsea come into the game as the favourites – they are trading 2.08 at the time of writing with Fulham 4.0 and the draw is 3.6. With so many issues for both sides and question marks around squads and performance levels, I’m happy to stay out of the match odds here. Fulham have held their own against Chelsea recently – they’ve got results in two of the last four meetings, including a 2-1 win the last time they had home advantage.

Fulham don’t create much going forward, but Chelsea do concede a lot of sloppy goals. I can see a close and cagey game here, and Under 2.5 goals looks worth backing at 1.96. Only 36% of the meetings between the sides have finished with Over 2.5 goals and neither side are firing at the start of the season. There must be a lot going on with Chelsea behind the scenes, but they have really struggled to score goals and I can see that continuing here.

The Striker Says:
Two points win Under 2.5 goals at 1.96 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
