UDINESE V LECCE

5.30pm It’s a massive week around Europe as the Champions League and Europa League return, and we kick it off with Monday night football from Serie A and La Liga on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE. We start the evening in Serie A with Udinese hosting Lecce. Udinese made an excellent start to the season last year; they went nine games unbeaten after losing on the opening weekend to AC Milan. It’s been a different story this season however; they have yet to win a game and they started this matchday sitting just outside the relegation zone with five points. Lecce started the weekend sitting in the top half of the table and they’ll be absolutely delighted with that after finishing in 16th last season, just five points off the relegation zone and you would have felt they might be involved in the relegation battle this season. That probably won’t be the case though! Neither side are playing excellent football; their xG figures are quite average. Udinese are creating an average xG of 1.39 while for Lecce it’s only 1.26. Away from home that drops massively for Lecce; only an average of 0.66 and they have been conceding a host of chances too!

That could easily prove to be the difference here, and Udinese come into the game as the favourites with home advantage. They are odds on though; the home win is 2.24 with Lecce 3.8 and the draw is 3.25 at the time of writing. I know Udinese haven’t managed to win a game this season yet, but they have been a lot better at home compared to away. They have been solid at the back with an average xG conceded of just over 1.0 and they are creating more too. In the three meetings since 2022 we’ve had every result between the sides! Udinese did win 2-0 with home advantage though, and the Lecce away figures are quite alarming. I think it’s wise to keep stakes small here given all the doubts about both sides, however Udinese are clearly playing better football than Lecce they just haven’t had the results yet. I would have them a little shorter than 2.24 and I feel it’s worth backing for them to finally get their first win.

The Ultra Says:
One point win Udinese to beat Lecce at 2.24 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

VALENCIA V CADIZ

8pm We move over to La Liga to finish Monday night as Valencia host Cadiz. Both sides started this matchday sitting in mid-table and you’d have to say that they will be happy with that. They were both heavily involved in the relegation battle last season; they both actually finished with the same amount of points – only two away from home the bottom three. The reality is we have two average sides here, and their main aim at the start of the season would be to stay up, which sounds crazy for a side with the history of Valencia. Both sides have been very poor going forward, Valencia’s average xG created is only 1.08 while Cadiz have the worst attacking record in La Liga with an average xG of 0.86. Valencia’s is in the bottom five, so it’s not like they are miles ahead of them. Cadiz have been a lot worse at the back, and you can understand why Valencia are the odds on favourites here with home advantage. Cadiz have been conceding an average xG of 1.71 which is also the worst record in La Liga this season. The under-lining numbers don’t make for good reading for Cadiz do they; not only the worst attacking record but the worst defensive record too.

As I said above you can understand why Valencia are odds on, and they are trading 1.8 at the time of writing while Cadiz are 5.4 and the draw is 3.7. Away from home, Cadiz have been conceding an average xG of 2.35 which is massive really; as the saying goes you don’t win many games conceding two goals per game! They have been incredibly lucky to have got the amount of points they have, and you’d have to fancy them to be heavily involved in the relegation battle again. I’d back them to go down if they stay at the same level of performance. Cadiz beat Valencia twice already in 2023, but it’s hard to see them getting a result here given the way they have played. Once again as the above game, I’m happy to keep stakes reasonably small here but I feel this game is there for the taking for Valencia and I’m happy to take the 1.8.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Valencia to beat Cadiz at 1.8 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
