ANOTHER NAP IN CAPITAL DOUBLE: Daqman landed a double across the racing spectrum yesterday from a two-year-old test in the west of Paris to a hot hurdles race just west of London. Rubaud was winning nap number 92 this year and he leads Pricewise on the Flat 56-33.

DAQMAN FORECASTS FOR 2024
FRANKIE DETTORI Expect an American raiding party at Royal Ascot 2024, with Frankie Dettori riding there again.
He starts out States side next month with the Breeders Cup at Santa Anita on November 3-4, and will next year take in the American Triple Crown.
Frankie has had 14 Breeders’ Cup wins but only one Kentucky Derby ride in the US triple-crown series.
He wanted to target the American Hall of Fame and emulate his idol, Steve Cauthen, who has been elected to both US and British Hall Of Fame. Cauthen was at British Champions Day to celebrate with Dettori on Saturday.
Frankie felt the lure of America and the twin accolade six years ago but something stopped him. That ‘something’, Enable, would become his favourite horse in a three-year campaign.
Even amid the Dettori emotions at Saturday’s standing ovation from the Ascot crowd, he mentioned Enable, who won 15 races including two Arcs and the Breeders Cup Turf at Churchill Downs.
THADY GOSDEN will take over a championship stable from his father, John. Team Gosden cannot now be beaten this year in the English trainers’-table battle with Aidan O’Brien.
John Gosden is Dettori’s mentor and guide and will be back in America, too. He trained in California in 1979, winning the Eclipse Awards with Bates Motel and Royal Heroine, returning to England in 1989.
BIG ROCK Daqman also latched on to Enable early in her career, and his Fortune Cookies was celebrating Ace Impact months before his stupendous Arc de Triomphe.
Sadness at Ace Impact’s immediate retirement but great news that the colt he beat in the French Derby, Big Rock, remains in training next year.
Big Rock won Saturday’s QE11 British Champions Mile six lengths in breathtaking fashion for Christopher Head and Aurelien Lemaire, my tips to continue the huge upturn of French racing in the four years since Sottsass won the Arc for veteran Jean-Claude Rouget, trainer of Ace Impact.
CITY OF TROY will target the English 2,000 Guineas and Derby. Henry Longfellow will go for the French 2,000 and Derby.
KORKER OF A NAP
⭕ 2.55 Windsor Korker looks the answer to this class 2 handicap, by far and away the best race of the afternoon.
Fresh from his Champions Day success with Poptronic, Karl Burke can start the week with another winner.
Both Korker and Chipstead have a few pounds ahead of the field based on official ratings but it’s Korker who arrives in the best form having won a class 2 at Beverley easily on soft ground and then ran a cracker behind Emaraaty Ana in the Listed Rous Stakes at Ascot. He didn’t get the rub of the green that day and could easily have gone close to winning it otherwise.
This will be his first try on heavy ground but the way he loved the soft at Beverley suggests that shouldn’t be a problem.
The bulk of Chipstead’s form has come on quicker ground, although he was a soft ground winner at Catterick. He was fifth in the Rous Stakes (good) so needs to find something with Korker on ground that might well favour Korker better.
Spoof is in good form and was a heavy ground winner at Nottingham last time out. At eight he’s the old boy of this party and the suspicion is that this is quite a hot class 2 which might be beyond him.
TIME TO BE BOLD
⭕ 3.15 Plumpton King Otis is a Betdaq Betting Exchange favourite that I’m keen to take on.
It’s pretty hard to understand why he was heading the morning market. A 14-race maiden whose four races since wind surgery have been:
Beaten 56 lengths
Pulled up
Beaten 26 lengths
Beaten 27 lengths
One of the few positives is that he might show some better form for his new trainer James Owen but you are playing at short odds to cling to that hope.
A more sensible option is surely Embolden who arrives here on the back of a very creditable third at Uttoxeter last time out.
His sole previous win today has come here with give in the ground. Course prowess is always a plus over quite a quirky circuit.
WHICHEVER STABLE IS IN FORM
⭕ 6.40 Wolverhampton Soowaih travelled well when winning at Newcastle last time out but didn’t really kick on at the end. The handicapper hasn’t really taken many chances on the Roger Varian trained runner.
He comes up against a couple of more streetwise contenders in Yeoman and Monte Linas from the James Fanshawe (4 winners from last 17) and Crisford (5 winners from last 24) yards and Betdaq prices allow me to play both for a win 10 return whichever (and hopefully it is whichever) one wins.
