TUESDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews JUVENTUS v SASSUOLO with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
JUVENTUS V SASSUOLO
7.45pm The Serie A action continues on Tuesday with Juventus hosting Sassuolo on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE. Over the last month, it’s became clear that the title race is between Inter Milan and Juventus – they have a decent gap to third now. Inter Milan won at the weekend, so Juventus come into this game five points behind Inter Milan at the top of the table. This is a game that they should win with home advantage, but there’s definitely pressure to keep up in the title race now. Sassuolo have been quite average this season, and they are going to start this game just two points off the relegation zone.
Sassuolo are sitting in 14th, so while they are only two points away from the bottom three there are plenty of teams between themselves and danger. There’s no need to hit the panic button yet! Nevertheless, Juventus come into this game as the red-hot favourites. The home win is trading 1.43 with Sassuolo 9.2 and the draw is 5.0 at the time of writing. While a glance at the table might suggest this will be an easy win for Juventus, the under-lining numbers would suggest this might not be straightforward.
Sassuolo are conceding a lot of chances this season, and that’s why they are sitting towards the bottom of the table. Their average xG conceded is 1.58 which is the third worst defensive record in Serie A this season. However, their average xG created is 1.45 which is actually higher than Juventus! Sassuolo should be higher in the table, but they aren’t taking their chances created and they are also conceding even more goals than they should. It just hasn’t really clicked for Sassuolo this season.
Juventus have been grinding out a lot of wins, and that is to their massive credit. As I said above, there’s only two sides in the title race and there’s actually quite a gap between them based on performance levels. Inter Milan have an average xG created of 1.83 while for Juventus it’s 1.40 – only the seventh best attacking figure in Serie A. Inter have also been much better at the back too, their average xG conceded is 1.07 which is the best figure in the league while for Juventus it’s 1.19 – which is still good in fairness, but you can see why Inter might run away with the title. Winning games like this is absolutely vital for Juventus.
I’m not sure I would be rushing to back Juventus at 1.43 here however. That prices feels a little shorter considering that they haven’t been blowing sides away this season and Sassuolo do create decent chances. However, being at home is very important for Juventus. There’s quite a difference between their home and away form this season. For Sassuolo, they have been conceding an average xG of 1.71 away from home which is a pretty big figure. It’s hard to see past a home win here, it’s just the 1.43 doesn’t make much appeal.
While Juventus have been very solid at the back at home this season, Sassuolo will make this an open game. Most of their games have been open this season, and they actually beat Juventus 4-2 earlier in the season when they had home advantage. Both Teams To Score is trading 2.06 while Over 2.5 goals is odds on at 1.8. I feel Sassuolo can score at some point, and the 2.06 on Both Teams To Score is a very appealing bet.
The Ultra Says:
