MATCH OVERVIEW:
We have a cracker at the IPL on Betdaq Betting Exchange as Royal Challengers Bengaluru take on Kolkata Knight Riders. This should be a top class game – we have the highest scoring IPL venue and plenty of star batters on display! Virat Kohli bounced back to form with a match winning knock after his break from cricket to lead RCB to a win over Punjab Kings, and Andre Russell went absolutely mental with 64 runs off just 25 balls as KKR beat Sunrisers Hyderabad in their opening game.
RCB did lose their opening game to CSK, but obviously Chennai is a very difficult place to go too. Everything points to an excellent game here, and we should have plenty of drama. Punjab Kings posted 176/6 here in the opening game but that looked short of par. The average run rate per over at this ground is 9.4 for the IPL so you’re looking at close to 200, and even then with a heavy dew that might not be enough. Kohli lead the way against Punjab, but Faf du Plessis, Cameron Green and Glenn Maxwell all flopped – Kohli can’t do everything on his own! Obviously in the conditions too, you’d have to worry a little about the bowling line-up from RCB. They’ve always been heavy on batting and light on bowling.
Although they won, KKR conceded over 200 runs in their opening game and if truth be told Sunrisers Hyderabad should have won. They had the game in their hands and let it go right at the death. The KKR middle order completely flopped, apart from Phil Salt nobody in the top five scored double figures but their batting line-up is so long and packed with hitters that they can afford to keep swinging!
WEATHER AND PITCH WATCH:
As I said above, the first innings score here the other day was 176/6 and that looked short of par. The average run rate per over is 9.4 here – it is the highest scoring IPL venue and it would be a big surprise if we didn’t see runs. We have two exceptionally strong batting line-ups on paper, and you can easily pick holes in the bowling line-ups too. I would be expecting a high scoring game here, and hopefully we see plenty of sixes. RCB did bowl well in the opening game here, perhaps it might be better if KKR bowl first in terms of scoring.
RECOMMENDED BET:
It’s no surprise to see a reasonably even market here with RCB the marginal favourites at 1.93. There really isn’t much between the sides – both are strong in the batting department and a little weak in their bowling department. I do feel we’ll get a very high scoring game here. In my opinion there’s really nothing between the sides – from a value point of view I couldn’t put anyone off KKR at 2.04 just purely because they aren’t the favourites, but I feel the best advice here is to back the side who bats first to trade out at the innings break and possibly switch to the chasing side depending on the score – I’d fancy a 200 chase here but obviously if things go crazy and it’s over 220 then reconsider.

IN-RUNNING STRATEGY:
I think the in-running strategy is pretty straightforward here. I want to be on both batting sides and against both sets up bowlers – I think we’ll see a high first innings score and I wouldn’t be surprised to see 200 chased down either. My recommended bet advice is basically in-running advice so there’s nothing further to add here. Hopefully it’s a good game for trading!
