PREMIER LEAGUE THURSDAY: The Striker previews Thursday’s match between BRIGHTON v MAN CITY with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
BRIGHTON V MANCHESTER CITY
8pm We finish the midweek Premier League fixtures on Thursday night as Brighton host Manchester City. We have another interesting market on BETDAQ Betting Exchange too – Manchester City are the favourites at 1.48 with Brighton 7.0 and the draw is 5.4 at the time of writing. Arsenal and Liverpool both played midweek before this game and their respective wins have kept the pressure on the title race. City kick off here four points behind but with two games in hand – a strong position, but obviously plenty of pressure. At the time of writing,
There are reasons to think that this could be a tricky fixture for City. Brighton have an average xG created of 1.69 this season which is the fifth best attacking figure in the Premier League. They are clearly a decent side going forward, but they’ve been very sloppy at the back this season and that has put them in mid-table. Their average xG conceded at 1.33 isn’t too bad, but their actual goals conceded average is higher at 1.56 which isn’t far off what they are scoring. Essentially if you average more-or-less the same going forward as at the back, it puts you in mid-table.
Brighton have really struggled to get over the line and close out games. It started back in December, and since then they have only won four times from 17 games. That’s a terrible stat for a side with the fifth best attacking figure in the Premier League! Two of those wins have come against sides in the relegation battle too in Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest. Up against the best side in the league here, it’s hard to see past a City victory. Given all the issues Brighton have had at the back, City have an average xG created of 2.24 which is clearly exceptionally impressive – it’s hard to see how Brighton can stop them.
I couldn’t put anyone off City at 1.48 here; they will get the job done in my opinion. However, I feel we will see a very open and attacking game – Brighton will fight fire-with-fire in my opinion, which isn’t usually a good idea against City but I can still see Brighton going that way. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.52 and Both Teams To Score is 1.69. The 1.52 on Overs looks a cracking bet, four ticks bigger than the City win and I expect plenty of goals here. I would also consider Over 3.5 at 2.3 or bigger.
The Striker Says:
Four points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.52 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
