4-1 WINNER A NEW BEGINNING: After a difficult week, Daqman had a ‘new beginning’ yesterday with Ata Rangi a 4-1 scorer.

WON 4-1 ATA RANGI

BULL’S-EYE BETS: Daqman’s bull’s-eye bets today on Haydock Sprint day include outsiders at 33.0 and 19.5 with a nap at 15.0 on BETDAQ

HALF CHANCE OVER LAZZAT

⭕ 3.35 Haydock Sprint Lazzat and No Half Measures! On form and the historical strength of July Cup winners in this race that could be the one-two.

But times were slow at Haydock yesterday and low numbers were favoured in sprints.

Lazzat (stall 10) landed a soft-ground four-timer over further last year and almost grabbed the £2.8m Golden Eagle at Rosehill.

He dropped back to 6f on firm at Royal Ascot in June and zapped the Japanese star Satano Reve.

The British Champion sprinter Kind Of Blue (19) may have been lucky to get it riding soft at Ascot Flora Of Bermuda third, Beauvatier fourth, come out of 16 and 5 this afternoon.

Equally, the July Cup one-two, No Half Measures (14) and Big Mojo (15), won’t get it firm like they had that day.

But No Half Measures is 1111 over 6f since her maiden and has won at the other extreme (heavy at Newbury).

Time For Sandals (2) has had only seven starts – never out of the frame – winning the Commonwealth Cup, with also lightly raced Sayidah Dariyan (1) running on a close fourth.

Betdaq Betting Exchange (10.30 am) 2.76 Lazzat, 20 No Half Measures, 21 Beauvatier, 16.5 from 23 Flora Of Bermuda and 33 Sayidah Dariyan.

BETDAQ 15.0 VALUE MARK

⭕ 2.40 Ascot This 7f handicap with a £41k prize was oversubscribed and the maximum 20 contains only five four-year-olds.

They dominate with 6-9, while eight of the runners over the age of five have landed only 1-9.

Six claimers have won in the decade, which adds to the chances of well-drawn Telemark for Simon and Ed Crisford, who won the mile handicap here yesterday very easily with Shout.

The slower ground will suit Telemark, who is better off with the favourite, Native Warrior, on their Newcastle form when Telemark lost this position at a vital time. I took 15.0 on BETDAQ this morning.

TEN OUT OF TEN ON ABILITY

⭕ 3.15 Ascot William Haggas has won this 1m 4f handicap three times in the last four seasons, interrupted only by Andrew Balding.

They do battle again here, with Tenability (Haggas) having completed a hat-trick here at Ascot in August (Topteam fourth for Balding). He was favourite every time but was 4.6 on BETDAQ this morning.

The Frankel colt is out of a mare by Pivotal, who is noted for passing on his aptitude for soft ground.

The second and third in his Ascot success have both scored since, so that his ratings rise looks lenient.

Lightly raced and a potential improver, Push The Limit won at Goodwood over a furlong shorter with some cut.

Rogue Millions is better than the bare form with plenty of give in the ground: 9.9 taken.

JAKAJARO HITTING THE WIRE

⭕ 4.55 Ascot Jamie Spencer has managed to get Jakajaro (BETDAQ 7.9) within two or three lengths of the winner in big fields, including the Stewards Cup, this summer. Well drawn and likes the ground.

On the other flank, Fair Wind, successful on soft, was a winner over the Ascot CD in July: 19.5 is too big.
