WIN-50 BULL’S-EYES IN 40 MINUTES: Daqman’s Saturday picks are spread over just 40 minutes’ racing at York and Newmarket, and of course include win-50 bull’s-eye bets!

ZAVATERI DESERVES DEWHURST

⭕ 3.00 Newmarket (Dewhurst Stakes) Punters now dazzled by the choice between Aidan O’Brien’s two-year-old fillies for next year – Precise or Diamond Necklace – are hoping to see a Ballydoyle colt go clear in this.

But neither Gstaad nor Italy is likely to be number one O’Brien’s pecking order for 2,000 Guineas and Derby. He has said: “I have one better at home.”

Could he mean Hawk Mountain. The Beresford winner waits for the Futurity at Doncaster (October 25) so we can only guess at improvement from Gstaad or Italy for today’s trial.

Eve Johnson Houghton’s Zavateri beat them into the minor places in the National Stakes at the Curragh last month and deserves the nap at 5.9, as top rating.

Distant Storm was impressive though perhaps beat nothing well in the Group-3 Somerville Tattersalls Stakes over the same distance here at Newmarket in September.

But Godolphin yesterday cheekily defeated O’Brien’s Brussels with one they’d had to snip! The now-gelded Beckford’s Folly was 16-1.

BINHAREER A BULL’S-EYE HIT

⭕ 3.15 York (Sprint Trophy) William Haggas has one on target here at York, his ‘second home’, on the last day of racing there this season.

Binhareer is well drawn and well handicapped in a race Haggas won with Montassib two years ago. BETDAQ 8.0.

The race doesn’t usually go to a three-year-old but seems inevitable today, since they have five of the leading seven in the market.

MORDOR’S MARK AND SPENCER

⭕ 3.40 Newmarket (Cesarewitch) With six of the last seven winners, and 10 of today’s 21 runners, Irish raiders have another £90,000 in the bag to be sure, to be sure. But with which one?

The draw has swung from high (19 to 24 six) to low (3, 6, 9 consecutively) and back again over the years, as older horses with hurdles form do best, though this is firm ground not for sloggers.

One of those with a no-man’s-land draw in stall 12 is Dawn Rising, sixth last year out of 18, and around a stone better off with the first two but facing concertina crowding.

The winner that day, Alphonse Le Grande came from on high (19 near side) beating Manxman (4 far side), and they are again on opposite sides of the track in 15 and 2.

Alphonse has since moved to top handicap trainer, Tony Martin, who saddled the Daqman gamble, Leg Spinner, to win this race in 2007.

But one best drawn, and with the gift of a typical weight mark for the race, is Mordor (8st 8lb out of stall 20) for Gordon Elliott. who is in tremendous form right now: eight winners in October and with a strike-rate near 25% in the last two weeks.

Jamie Spencer keeps the ride after Mordor finished second in the Goodwood Stakes. Spenny won the Cesarewitch on Detroit City in 2006.

Surrey Belle (19) led for a long way in the Chester Plate in the Spring and is expected to take them along on that side.

The trial winner for today’s race, Reverend Hubert (21), is from the Charles Byrnes stable which won it with a seven-year-old in 2022 off a sub-9st mark, careful to choose a reliable rider in David Egan.

‘Hubert’ beat Belgravian that day and is still well placed down the handicap and his change of jockey is significant.

On his first ride for Byrnes today, Silvestre De Sousa has won the Cesarewitch three times, with two favourites and a 66-1 shocker.

With Britain’s top trainer, Andrew Balding, Belgravian is better off at the weights with ‘Hubert’, but only one three-year-old has won the race this century and just two in 34 years.

Betdaq Betting Exchange 21 Mordor, 13 Belgravian, 16 Alphonse Le Grande, 6.3 Reverend Hubert, 9.4 Dawn Rising

What are points? Points facilitate a staking plan, which is the secret to creating profit. One point is whatever you choose: a pound, a euro, or whatever ….

Start with a bank and decide how much you can afford to lose over a period of time, and determine the size of your bets accordingly. Daqman makes this variation every day.
