PREMIER LEAGUE SATURDAY: The Striker previews LIVERPOOL v CHELSEA and MANCHESTER CITY v BRENTFORD both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
LIVERPOOL V CHELSEA
12.30pm We have a blockbuster Saturday from the Premier League on Betdaq Betting Exchange! We kick off the day with a fascinating clash as Liverpool host Chelsea at Anfield – Chelsea come into the game is crisis as they finish the season poorly. They’ve dropped down to ninth now having suffered one of the most embarrassing collapses of the season; six losses in a row, but at least they finally scored last time out against Nottingham Forest! Liverpool’s season has also been a painful fall from grace for the defending Premier League champions, but at least they have Champions League football to look forward to next season. They’ve had moments this term but have shown a tendency to drop points at the worst possible times; the weekend at Old Trafford was a classic example, do all the hard work to come back from 2-0 down to lose 3-2 in the last few minutes. Arne Slot has had a difficult season, and there has been cracks in the Liverpool support too – they are usually very good at backing the manager too! It’ll be interesting to see how next season goes; if Liverpool start slowly will the crowd start to get on his back. Obviously Chelsea will have another new manager for next season; not unusual for them!
Both sides have clearly had their flaws this season, but it’s no surprise to see Liverpool come into the game as the odds on favourites given Chelsea’s woes. Liverpool are trading 1.91 with Chelsea 4.0 and the draw is 4.2 at the time of writing. Liverpool’s average xG created of 1.73 is the third best attacking figure in the Premier League, and their xG conceded of 1.32 is the fourth best defensive figure. They are playing good football, and they should have won more games this season. Obviously Chelsea are in freefall at the moment, but their average xG created of 1.59 is the fifth best attacking figure, but they have been incapable of converting that into results recently. Their xG conceded of 1.30 is the third best defensive figure. The concern with Liverpool is their own inconsistency this season, but the 1.91 feels too big to ignore here in my opinion. Chelsea look like a side short on confidence, and Cole Palmer looks completely lost at the moment too. It seems a great time to be against Chelsea, and I’d have Liverpool closer to 1.8 rather than 1.9. I feel we’re getting enough value to start the day with a Five Star NAP!

MANCHESTER CITY V BRENTFORD
5.30pm We finish Saturday with the next instalment in the dramatic title race! Manchester City host Brentford at the Etihad in what is now an absolutely must win game for Pep Guardiola’s side in the title race. After a sensational 3-3 draw at Everton on Monday night, Manchester City have lost further ground to Arsenal and now trail the Gunners by five points with a game in hand. Obviously now the title is in Arsenal’s hands – they have a pretty easy fixture list on the run-in. Dare I say a win away to West Ham at the weekend – fighting for their lives in the relegation battle – will go a long way to handing Arsenal the title. City will be without the injured Rodri, Josko Gvardiol and Rubén Dias for this one too, which piles further pressure on a back line that is showing signs of vulnerability. Wayne Rooney said weeks ago that Everton would take points off City; a remarkable call given how strong City have been finishing the season in fairness. This is a game that they will be fully expected to win, and it’s no surprise that they come into the game as the odds on favourites. City are trading 1.38 with Brentford 8.6 and the draw is 6.0 at the time of writing.
Brentford are having a wonderful season, they come into the weekend sitting in seventh which is just inside the European spots. That would be an incredible achievement for them – a first European campaign in their history. They are massively over-performing though, not that their fans care! Their average xG created of 1.30 is the joint-fifth worst attacking figure in the Premier League, and their average xG conceded of 1.47 is also poor. It would be a big shock if City didn’t win here, but obviously morale in the Brentford camp must be sky high. City’s average xG created of 1.81 is the best attacking figure in the entire Premier League this season, and their xG conceded of 1.13 is the second best defensive figure. City have also won seven of their last ten meetings with Brentford, losing just twice. City covering the handicap on the way to winning looks the right angle in my opinion. They are trading around 2.0 to cover the -1.5 goal handicap, and given Guardiola’s side’s need to put goals on the board and the quality of their attack against a Brentford side leaking chances, the 2.0 looks cracking value.
The Striker Says:
Three points win Manchester City -1.5 goals to beat Brentford at 2.0 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
