🏆 World Cup 2026 🏆

GROUP E FINAL MATCHDAY

8pm Group E wraps up on Thursday night UK time, with Ecuador taking on Germany at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey while Curacao face Ivory Coast in Philadelphia on WORLD CUP 2026 Betdaq Betting Exchange! . Germany have already wrapped up top spot and are through to the Round of 32, meaning their game is a dead-rubber for them and an opportunity to rest a few players in a long World Cup. The real drama lies in Philadelphia, where Ivory Coast know a win over Curacao secures them a place in the knockout stages, and Ecuador’s only hope of joining them is to beat Germany and hope Ivory Coast stumble. So far it’s been a World Cup to forget for Ecuador, and they are highly likely to be heading home after the Group stage.

Obviously there’s a massive gulf in class between Ivory Coast and Curacao, so we have a red-hot favourite there. Ivory Coast are trading as short as 1.18 with Curacao 20.0 and the draw is 9.2, while in the other game Germany are marginally odds on favourites at 1.95 with Ecuador 4.0 and the draw is 4.2 at the time of writing. Germany’s tournament has been outstanding, and after some major Group drama at previous World Cup’s, they can relax and enjoy the final day here. They’ve ended a 12-year wait to reach the knockout stages, and for a nation that has won four World Cups that’s a long time! Ecuador’s tournament has been a disaster. There’s no other word for it – they went into the Ivory Coast game as the favourites and lost with the last kick of the ball.

A big blow, but their tournament wasn’t gone. Then, a 0-0 draw against Curacao leaves them needing to beat Germany on the final Matchday – no small task. Curacao goalkeeper Eloy Room produced one of the great individual goalkeeping performances in World Cup history, making 15 saves to keep a 0-0 scoreline intact across 90 minutes despite Ecuador generating an xG of 3.44. It was the most saves by any keeper in 90 minutes of a World Cup match since records began in 1966. The Ecuador xG was one of the highest at the World Cup so far; probably one of Ecuador’s highest in years too – but they just couldn’t put the ball in the net. You have to hand it to Curacao, the smallest nation by population ever to qualify for a World Cup, it was a famous night for them – a disaster for Ecuador though.

With Germany already certain of top spot, they have to be likely to rest some players here, and that will be a positive for Ecuador – but you have to account for the fact that the players who come in will be pushing for a place in the first XI – I just can’t see Ecuador getting the win they need. And from a value point of view, the 1.95 on Germany doesn’t jump off the page either. In Philadelphia, it’s hard not to see Ivory Coast winning – the market is expecting a smooth win though given they are trading 1.18! I’m happy to stay out of the Germany game with nothing jumping off the page, and in the Ivory Coast v Curacao game I’m going to keep stakes small, but I do feel that Curacao can frustrate Ivory Coast at times. Under 3.5 goals is trading 1.68 and that looks worth a small bet in my opinion.

The Ultra Says:
One point win Under 3.5 goals Curacao v Ivory Coast at 1.68 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
