Tonight’s Premier League football has thrown up an interesting encounter between two of the division’s most unpredictable teams – Newcastle and Wigan.
Newcastle will be looking to end a desperately poor run of form that has seen them lose their last four league games while the Latics travel to St James Park tonight following a 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday night.
Alan Pardew’s side haven’t been helped with injuries to key mean like Hatem Ben Arfa and Yohan Cabaye and there is a lack of cover in defence. However, the attacking verve we witnessed from the Magpies last term seems to be lacking and there is a danger this season could turn into a disappointing one.
Despite showing promise under Roberto Martinez, Wigan can never be relied on to put a strong run together until the latter stages of a season where they are usually involved in a relegation fight.
Newcastle know five straight defeats is unacceptable and, with home advantage roaring them on, and at healthy odds of around 2.11 on BETDAQ, take them to reverse their recent run and take the three points.
