PREMIER LEAGUE TUESDAY: The Striker previews BRIGHTON v CHELSEA with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
BRIGHTON V CHELSEA
8pm We have midweek Premier League to enjoy on Betdaq Betting Exchange this week! We kick it off on Tuesday night as Brighton host Chelsea at the Amex. Brighton could give another hammer blow to a London club this week! They absolutely broke Spur’s hearts at the weekend in an extraordinary finish – with Spurs looking set to end their 15 match winless run when Xavi Simons fired them in front in the 77th minute, substitute Georginio Rutter curled home a 95th minute equaliser to stun the home crowd and keep Spurs in the relegation zone. Now they face Chelsea, who are now looking in real trouble in the race for Champions League spots.
Manchester United came to Stamford Bridge on Saturday and delivered another hammer blow to Chelsea’s Champions League hopes. That made it four losses in a row and they have failed to score in that run too. They also had results go against them on Super Sunday with Aston Villa winning, but more important Liverpool beat Everton in the Merseyside Derby. Another hammer blow for Chelsea with the winning coming in the 100th minute by Virgil van Dijk! That leaves them seven points outside the top five; obviously an extra Champions League spot for the Premier League this season. The Champions League spot looks all but dead, but this is a must win game to have any chance.
We have an open betting heat – Brighton come into the game as the odds on favourites at 2.56 with Chelsea 2.84 and the draw is 3.8 at the time of writing. Rosenior, who made such a bright start to his tenure at Stamford Bridge, has seen his side win just one of their last eight Premier League games. Given how trigger happy Chelsea are, he’s unlikely to last you have to say. An 8-2 aggregate defeat to PSG in the Champions League last 16 added further misery – this has been a very difficult period for a club. While things aren’t going for Chelsea at the moment, Brighton’s season has been quite lacklustre. You wouldn’t be rushing to back them as favourites here.
Their average xG created of 1.50 is the eighth best attacking figure in the Premier League, and their average xG conceded of 1.39 is a solid mid-table defensive figure. They have been miles off competing for Europe which has been the goal for the past few seasons. Chelsea’s numbers are clearly better on paper – their average xG created of 1.60 is the fifth best in the league, and their average xG conceded of 1.29 is the joint-third best defensive figure. They have a performance level that deserves a Champions League spot, but there’s just been a tonne of drama at the club this season. I’m actually happy to stay out of the match odds market here because it’s been hard to have much faith in either of these sides. What we should see though is an open end-to-end game with plenty of chances, and plenty of mistakes at the back too. Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.72 and Both Teams To Score is 1.6. Surely Chelsea can end their goalless run here, but I feel Over 2.5 goals is the better value bet at 1.72.
The Striker Says:
Two points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.72 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
