Three reasons to back Dallas

1. The Titans are overvalued after their win over Kansas City last week and they’re one of the worst home teams in the NFL, failing to cover in six consecutive home games.

2. Dallas has one of the NFL’s best offenses, a unit that features difference-makers at the skill positions like wideout Dez Bryant and tailback DeMarco Murray and is led by quarterback Tony Romo, a 3-time Pro Bowler. They’ll be a tough matchup for a mediocre Tennessee defense that will be missing one of its best players, inside linebacker Zach Brown.

3. Quarterback play has a disproportionate effect on winning and losing in the NFL, and Dallas clearly has the better quarterback in this matchup: Tony Romo is a veteran who has long been one of the league’s better passers, while Jake Locker is a young player whose role as the starter in Tennessee may be in jeopardy if his play doesn’t improve this season.

Three reasons to back Tennessee

1. Tennessee looked great last week, easily beating Kansas City on the road, while Dallas barely put up a fight in a demoralizing home loss to San Francisco. Nothing we’ve seen this season could give anyone any confidence in the Cowboys.

2. Dallas quarterback Tony Romo is recovering from back surgery and was clearly rusty last week. On Sunday he’ll be facing a Titans secondary that defended the pass well last season and forced Kansas City quarterback Alex Smith into 3 interceptions in Week 1.

3. The Cowboys surrendered more yards than any team in the NFL in 2013 and they looked lost on defense again last week, when San Francisco had little trouble moving the ball up and down the field. This is an excellent opportunity for Jake Locker and the Tennessee offense, who played very well in a Week 1 win over Kansas City.
