GETTING AHEAD WITH DAQMAN: Newbury, Nottingham and Newbury. Daqman has searched through them today for bets in the least competitive of races and come up with a nap that’s ahead of the handicapper, where its market rival has to carry a penalty.

VALUE BETTING BONANZA? Daqman wants to stay ahead of the game (currently 55-25) tomorrow with Pricewise, who is threatening a Saturday TV bonanza of value bets at Newbury, Newmarket and Market Rasen.

ARE THESE TWO OF GOSDEN’S JEWELS?

1.50 Nottingham and 2.00 Newbury James Doyle has a near-full book of six rides at Newmarket tonight but Godolphin also want him at Nottingham (1.50) for the one mount, 4.1 BETDAQ offer Parfait.

By the Group-1 sprint winner Invincible Spirit, Parfait has relatives of Listed/Pattern ability, and his dam won first time out as a two-year-old on soft ground.

John Gosden’s juvenile maidens are 1421012 in the last fortnight. The last two winners, Seven Heavens and Dabyah, were both scoring on the debut as well-backed favourites.

So you should also watch the market at Newbury (2.00), where Gosden saddles a potential cracker in Jewel House, offered 6.2 early mouse.

Jewel House is by Irish Guineas winner, Dubawi, who won the National Stakes as a two-year-old, out of a dam related to Frankel’s dam, Kind.

The threat from those that have raced probably comes from the 4.7 morning favourite, Asaas, who made a pleasing debut on today’s course, and holds the National Stakes entry.

Gosden has one of six juvenile Group entries in the Newbury Rose Bowl (3.40), a race Limato won in 2014. But, since winners of this range between 11-8 and 33-1, I’ll just watch.

3.30 Nottingham This is a fast 6f and punters who like a trade had better be even faster! All eyes today on lightning-starter Tangerine Trees.

But he only just held on over 5f here in May and is up 3lb over a furlong further to a mark he’s never won off in a handicap.

Shipyard has won on soft in class 2 and also likes to lead. The worry is that Tangerine Trees will ‘cut his throat.’

Son Of Africa, for the Limato stable, has to give weight all round but, in fact, is dropped in class and down 5lb since the start of the season. The worry this time is the threat of showers.

I’m going win and place on Solar Flair, hooded first time for a canny yard. He gets 7f but travels well and might be able to beat the fast sorts as they flag in a finish fought out on an easy surface.

Still in the Stewards’ Cup, which reveals the way he’s being trained, despite his 7f credentials. Must win this and absorb a penalty if he’s to get in at Goodwood: 10.5 best on BETDAQ this morning.

4.35 Nottingham Three-year-olds dominate this: they are 1121131 from only 13 runners in seven seasons, and are solely represented here by Poet’s Beauty.

A winner on an easy surface in the Spring, and unlucky to be denied the follow up when mugged in the final strides at Haydock. Young Thomas Brown (3) will be on his guard against that happening again.

WAKE-UP CALL FOR ED’S GRAVY TRAIN

5.05 Nottingham Hereford trainer Ed De Giles shows a huge level-stakes profit at Nottingham, but how statistics can lie!

Level-stakes lemmings should know that it’s almost all down to one 50-1 winner; otherwise he’s had one other winner on the course from 20 starters.

But current stats for Ed’s general form show him on a four-timer today and with a quite stunning 8-12 in the frame.

And since his three-year-old Wakame is five in a row in the first four – only once out of the three – and is racing on the blind side of the handicapper, I shall have my pound on him here.

Wakame is due to go up 3lb in the future, while his main market rival, Mister Royal, carries a 6lb penalty.

7.50 Newmarket James Tate is another trainer on a four-timer today and he returns Bahamian Dollar to the track with the same claimer who won on him in May: 9.4 on BETDAQ.

I suspect that last year’s winner, 9.6 offer Crew Cut, has been laid out for the race again. Could be a close shave between the two!
