WORLD CUP GROUP J: The Ultra previews JORDAN v ALGERIA with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
🏆 World Cup 2026 🏆
🇯🇴 Jordan v Algeria 🇩🇿
4am (Tuesday) Group J’s bottom two collide in the early hours of Tuesday morning as Jordan take on Algeria at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on WORLD CUP 2026 Betdaq Betting Exchange! . When we had all the drama over ticket prices; this was one of the obvious fixtures people would highlight to see how full the stadium is. Obviously the jury remains out of course, but FIFA will be delighted with the volume of fans in the stadiums so far – especially given the eye-watching ticket prices too. This might not be the most glamorous game, but it’s absolutely massive for both sides. Algeria come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.61 with Jordan 6.6 and the draw is 4.3 at the time of writing.
Neither defeat on Matchday One was much of a surprise, with Jordan undone late by Austria and Algeria comfortably beaten by Argentina, but with both Argentina and Austria expected to take the top two places in this group, this was always going to be either sides best chance at three points and possibly getting into one of those best third-placed finisher spots. The problem might be goal difference, but let’s see what happens. Jordan’s defeat to Austria was actually closer than the 3-1 final score suggests. Romano Schmid’s early strike gave Austria the lead, but Ali Olwan’s glorious equaliser – Jordan’s first ever World Cup goal – levelled it before half-time, and it took a fortunate own goal and a stoppage-time Marko Arnautovic penalty to separate the sides in the end. There was plenty for Jamal Sellami to be encouraged by in that performance, even in defeat, and Jordan will know they competed for long periods.
Algeria never really got going against the champions. They created little of note and were beaten comfortably by a rampant Argentina side inspired by Messi’s hat-trick. Obviously who could not love that hat-trick; it’s been the highlight of the tournament so far. They will want a much sharper response here after a passive opening display. There’s a strong squad underneath that result, though, built around the experience of Riyad Mahrez who most Premier League fans will know well. Jordan are making their World Cup debut after forty years of trying, and obviously you have to say that there is a little gulf in class here, but the 1.61 on Algeria looks a little short in my opinion. I just feel we’ll see a closer game than those odds suggest.

We should also see an entertaining game though. With both teams’ hopes hanging by a thread, they must win here – a draw is no good for anyone. Jordan’s display against Austria suggests they won’t simply roll over, and a side that’s already shown it can compete with better opposition than this should fancy its chances of at least competing with Algeria for long periods. I couldn’t put anyone off the Algeria lay, but Over 2.5 goals stands out here at 2.0 in what should be an open and attacking game. I’d have Overs odds on personally, and I’m happy with a confident bet. It might not be the most glamorous fixture, but I feel we’ll see goals!
